Dr. Shonte Byrd, MD

She was my dr for a while, Years. She just refilled prescriptions from my previous doctor. She didn’t want to perform any tests when I suspected a problem. She sent me to have a ridiculous test done that had little to do with my primary complaint. She simply told me to just accept her diagnosis. She is very arrogant and doesn’t listen. I have new doctors now that are performing tests and changing my medication to something from this century. Please don’t go see this woman. I wish that I knew of this website before spending years dealing with her.

Amazing bedside manner. Explains everything she is doing, her concerns, her diagnosis and recommendations for treatment. One of the most capable physicians I have ever met.

I have been seeing Dr Bird for over 7 plus years. She is very attentive, always professional and caring. I brag about her to all my friends and family as to her being so awesome. I have several health problems that cause chronic pain. Dr Bird understands my condition and I don't suffer as much as I use to. She is the best in her profession. Kudos to Dr Shonte Bird!!!

Dr. Byrd was very nice and listened to all my concerns. I have been to different neurologists and this time I felt like someone really listened to me. DR BYRD IS AWESOME!! Really liked going to her for my special needs.

I am very surprised Dr Byrd has a license to practice. The consultation lasted 3 minutes in which she told me the symptoms were weird and that she was going to Google them. I thought she was jocking! But no. As cynical as it sounds, she proceed to Google them. She went into WebMD to let me know it looked like ocular migraines . She told me to take an over the counter med for migraines and that was all. I can't believe she studied so many years to Google symptoms and don't even do some tests. Doctors like her, are a danger.

Doctor Byrd was polite, but I am really surprised about her answer to my symptoms. She said " that is weird, let's Google your symptoms". And she proceeded to Google them , then she came to the conclusion I have ocular migraines according to Web MD . After reading that, she recommended me to take any over the counter tablet for migraine . The consultation lasted 5 minutes ,and she still charged me $140.00 including the Google search of symptoms. What is the point of studying medicine so many years ?

My visits at Dr. Byrd's office have been some of the worst experiences I've had with a healthcare provider. Her bedside manner is absolutely terrible. After being referred to her by another specialist, I went to her office with a few questions in mind. Unfortunately, I left with most of them unanswered. I had a follow-up visit, where she recommended surgery. Of course I had questions about this. She didn't answer any of these questions at this visit either and left the room rather brusquely. Her response to my questions at both visits was "I'm not the one to answer that". Seeing as I was referred to her in order to further evaluate my medical issues and get these questions answered, who else exactly should be addressing them? Having spent many years in the healthcare industry, I know this is not the appropriate way to treat a patient. I'm not asking for you to sit with me for an hour answering questions, but I do expect to be treated with respect. She's clearly a very intelligent… physician, but her communication is severely lacking. I won't be returning to her office

Dr. Byrd is so caring, thoughtful and patient. She goes out of her way to make you comfortable while answering all of your questions. She remembers everything from every conversation that you have whether it's your treatment or family, she's very attentive to every detail of your treatment. And i would recommend her to any and everyone, i truly wish there were more doctor's like Dr. Byrd. Her bedside manner is amazing, you can tell that's something she learned as a child, not from medical school.
