Shruti Handa

I met with Dr Handa (but communicated mostly with her resident) for chronic pain. After 9 months of treatment, I was told that elimination of my pain 'was not the goal.' Not very reassuring. While her resident was very compassionate, he had to run most things by Dr Handa so I either ended up repeating myself or having to wait days to get answers. Dr Handa also seems to be away for weeks at a time which may be part of why my I was told it would be 16 months before I could get in for an appointment. In addition, I was tapered off of fairly high doses of medications too quickly and ended up with awful side effects. Finally, the staff that worked in refilling my prescriptions often sent them to the wrong pharmacy, or had to ask ME what medications and doses I was on.
