Dr. Shu-Ching Hu

Makes up his mind on a diagnosis before being presented with ALL information. Performed a very limited neurological screening and refused to do further testing on a patient that is clearly experiencing significant disability because there was "no active neurological damage occurring." Passed off all symptoms are merely "psychological" despite the fact that all current research on the three most likely causes to the vast array of symptoms all indicate that the condition is organic and simply aggravated by stress. Very disappointed that a teaching hospital would have someone with such an archaic approach to medicine and patient care. Dr's advice? Just "wait it out" until patient can get a psych appointment two to three months down the road. Never mind the fact that patient can't work (only breadwinner in the household), that the disabling conditions are making her anxiety worse, has gone from an active lifestyle to the point she has spent the past two weeks not being able to do even… the most basic of daily living activities without assistance. Perhaps he needs to simply stick patients that are either epileptics or have Parkinson's? He's definitely not someone to see for more challenging movement disorder conditions.

Dr Hu has worked with me on Parkinson's and some other issues and he and his staff have always given the best of care! I will always recommend him to anyone I know who may be in need. Thanks!

Dr. Hu might be okay but one of his office staff is not. Feb. 24, I called to make an appointment cause someone called and cancelled our appointment for May 7. How the person I talked to was not nice and was going to put the appointment another month or two out from May 7. She said Dr. Hu was busy with teaching and other clinics--I ask for another clinic appointment or referral. She said no way. I said we had trouble with medication and had a few other question about Chuck's parkinsons. She said too bad. I said I guess we need another doctor and she said, good idea and hung up on me.???????????? What the heck is going on here--patients don't count any more??????????
