Although she would talk in a slow very detailed fashion, she won't listen to my complaints. I tried telling her about my symptoms she shook her head and continue to talk about different things. I went to Sharp and got the surgery I needed done.

She was ok as a doctor but she was very condescending to her staff and was late. Did not apologize for running late. She should know how treat people better than this.

I struggled with Dermoid cysts on both of my ovaries for nearly 3 years. In the final year, I regularly experienced excruciating pain and discomfort during every day life activities such as exercising, yoga, and dancing! Every doctor I had seen for my cysts told me, given my age and desire to someday have children, my best options were to monitor the pain from the cysts as to avoid any major risk to my ovaries. Other doctors informed me that surgery was very risky and to mitigate any further risks, such as losing my ovary and being sent into premature menopause, a bikini line cut and full on surgery was my best option. Naturally, operating based on this advice, I avoided surgery like the plague. I met Dr. Washington at Planned Parenthood. A proud yet humble woman, who entered the room with a nose ring and dread locks. Her energy was welcoming, warm, and professional. Her confidence was captivating. She promptly contradicted everything all previous doctors had told me, and insisted she… could save my ovary, remove the cysts, and have me back to functioning in less than a week through a minimally invasive laparoscopic procedure. Furthermore, she was certain she could get my very difficult and state ran insurance to authorize the procedure in less than 3 days! I begrudgingly agreed to the surgery and promptly went home to research her. I was amazed and comforted. You should look her up on youtube and see all of her amazing work. After seeing what she was really about and how very accomplished she is, (HARVARD MED SCHOOL AND STANFORD UNDERGRAD?!) I had the unmistakeable feeling that speaks to your gut and lets you know you've found "the one." She is what medical professionals should be like– dedicated to improve peoples health and not motivated by monetary gain. In fact, the last thing I remember Dr. Washington saying before I went out in the OR was, "I think I could live in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. This is because this place satisfies my two criteria for living in any particular place. My two criteria are 1) there must be a beach, and 2) there must also be poor women in need of health care." My scars healed up beautifully and as promised I was back to normal life after a week. The ONLY disappointment I suffered was when I learned Dr. Washington is no longer accepting new patients, so if you, by some stroke of luck end up with her, consider yourself among the lucky ones.

My girlfriends been bleeding for years and Dr. Washington has been really amazing. She's feeling so much better now after having these issues for years and years and years. Even though the wait time was kind of long she took time to answer all of our questions and make my girlfriend feel comfortable. . I can't thank her or Planned Parenthood enough.

The wait was a little long but once I got to see Dr Washington she listened carefully to all of my issues and took time to explain everything that was going on and answered all me questions.
