Dr. Silas Emmett Lucas, MD

After being in a car accident and experiencing daily pain that has changed my life, while waiting over and hour past my appointment time, which I get happens in the medical field. I can hear the doctor through the door on the phone shopping for a 2019 Lexus!!! when I politely explain to him that I can hear him and am in pain he completely disregards me mentioning it. When I decide that this will not be a productive relationship he slams the door as hard as he can… Dr Lucus ??? Is this how doctors behave?????? Is this acceptable to treat your patients in this manner when they come to you in a vulnerable place in their lives???? Outrageous!!!!

I thought Dr Lucas left the practiced. He did surgery on me two years ago. I saw him once after surgery than they called me he was no longer in practice. What the heck.

Dr. Lucas performed a very difficult surgery on me and he did a fantastic job. I had let things go for years, which did not make things easier for him. He had to preform a double fusion and a triple Laminectomy, which required extensive removal of tissue buildup from the years of procrastination on my part. I feel very lucky to have him as my surgeon. He listens very well during pre op/post op appointments. He answered all of my questions with honesty, which I appreciated very much. I feel great after surgery and would recommend him for anyone looking for a professional experienced (seasoned) surgeon that has 100% confidence in his abilities.

It started with, what I thought, was sciatic nerve problems going down my leg, so I started by going to physical therapy, which helped some. Then when it came back, I did 2 more months of physical therapy. Okay for a very short while, the the pain came back, almost debilitating. I was having to use a walker to walk my dog, or go anywhere. Dr. Lucas first tried injections, which helped for a couple of days at first, then not even until got out to my car. We opted for surgery, which was to take about 2-3 hours, but ended up taking closer to 6 hours because Dr. Lucas had a little trouble doing what needed to be done. But he stuck with it. Fused 3 discs using about 8 screws and 2 cages. After 8-10 weeks, slow recovery, I can now do things I used to do 20 years ago, and my back feels better than it's felt in 30 years. I highly recommend Dr. Lucas and his team to anyone.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone at anytime, not even to my worst enemy. This doctor needs a lot help for his severe anger issues, or he needs to find another line of work if he can't work with people without being a hateful verbal bully to his patients for no reason. It is very sad when I was truly needing help that this doctor decided to treat me worse than dog dirt. Please trust me, find yourself or your loved one another doctor. Dr. Lucas might be a very knowledgeable doctor to some people, but he needs to learn to treat all his patients with respect or just plain simple human decency. He really needs to take the Hippocratic Oath again, and he needs to learn to treat his patients the way he would want to be treated. I'm glad for those in these reviews who had good experience with Dr. Lucas, because they really must of caught him on a good day.

After Dr. Lucas recently performed a microdiscectomy on me, I feel like I have my life back. I am 100% better. While some of my appointments with him felt a bit rushed, in the one that mattered most prior to the surgery, he took quite a bit of time to walk me through my MRI; the procedure; the risks; and what to expect afterwards. Where I rate him highest is on the outcome of the surgery, which I could not be more thankful for having done (and so successfully).

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He suffers from some very bad anger issues that he needs help with, and he was the very definition of unprofessional. You go to a doctor when you need help, and not to be treated like your worse than dirt for no good reason.

Seen Dr. Lucas after a back injury, he was very rude and absolutely had no bedside manner. He seemed uninterested in finding a solution to the back pain that only seems to get worse as the days go on. Although this injury was not workmans comp, Dr. Lucas seemed to only be concerned with, "Is this workmans comp." I will be getting a second opinion.

Dr. Lucas did surgery on my back in 2007. Due to stieriods after surgery, you think you are better. But I was worse! I maintained til I can not stand it and am having someone else do it this time.
