Dr. Simon Mikhail Vinarsky, MD

He was my doctor for many years for poor iron. I actually really liked him as a doctor. He started treating me for brain Cancer. Ihad surgery and some treatment at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. I did my research on myprotocals dor my type of cancer. I was stable and just doing chemo as a percaustion because I was a grade 3 . Dr Vinarsky recommended I say on a high matinance dose chemo indefinitely. I went to Mayo and they were outraged and said , " this protocol would cause bone or blood cancer." I went back to Dr Vinarsky and told him this and he insisted on his treatment and I removed myself from his care. He is very dangerous!!!

I was referred for an enlarged lymph node. I felt he was thorough and very understanding. Referred me out for surgical biopsy to a great surgeon. I am one of the lucky ones with benign, but had it gone the other way, I would have been comfortable in his care.

Prompt and courteous staff. Very personable physician, greeted by my first name and made to feel comfortable despite the diagnosis. Dr. explained his role and plan to help me beat this cancer and gave both my husband and I hope. Now on to treatment and success!

Dr. Vinarsky gave me great service and had a wonderful bedside manner. He helped me after so many years of not feeling well. He has done a great job in caring for me and my condition.

Never did I think a doctor would push drugs so quickly on a patient as he does. Instead of doing a quick research or extra x-ray he insisted his diagnosis was the end all be all. Well, it wasn't. Too late for us, but hopefully others can learn from this

He talks a good talk, but he didn't follow through. Said he he had a special interest in my type of Leukemia and was willing to work with the recommendations from my specialist at a center of excellence. But when I came back with those recommendations, he wasn't. He didn't read the documents I brought back with me. He called me and said that he/they couldn't and wouldn't do subcutaneous Ig at the office. I kept telling him that wasn't how it was done. He hung up on me and had a nurse call back and cancel my next appointment. In essence, he fired me. Little did he know, his comment in his followup CYA letter, that I would be better served to find another oncologist, was the most intelligent and truthful thing he ever said to me. To implement the plan from the center of excellence I needed two things; two new doctors, an immunologist and an oncologist, both of whom wrote prescriptions. Too tough for him I guess.

He saved my life and continues to do so.

Great doctor, he has kept me alive for more than 4 years with 2 different types of cance

We had a 2:15 appointment for my husband's 6-mo. check up. After we waited awhile an entourage of 4 with 1 patient arrived, waited and was seen before us, in spite of late arrival. When the doctor finally saw my husband (after a 30 minute wait) , he never even sat a moment to listen or ask questions. He just fired off his words in haste to leave, never responded to my husband's concerns and comments and ran out the door before we had a chance to continue the dialog. His bedside manner is totally lacking, his rush to run out is totally uncaring and unprofessional. Where is the compassion for a patient's struggles?

When I first met Dr Vinarsky I had just had a lumpectomy and was so fearful of the future. Immediately upon meeting him I knew he would see me through it and he did. He explained options and spent all the time with me. Gave me solid advice on caring for myself. I have referred my friends to him, and now my husband. The times I would sit in the infusion room and see him come in and stop to check on his patients with such compassion. Thank you Dr V-8
