Dr. Sisi Njia Hester-Clarke, MD

I ordered my own lab work due to famiily history of hashimoto’s and type 1 diabetes, and my own celiac disease and hypothyroid symptoms. I have noticed my TSH going up for a few years with symptoms worsening, including weight gain, constipation, and sensitivity to cold. I finally got a positive result from the lab work and scheduled my appt here. I was excited to finally be seeing a doctor about these issues, but when she pretty much brushed me off and just ordered me to get lab work in her office before she would do anything, I was crushed to the point that I was holding back tears in the lab waiting. I felt so condescended to just for doing my own research. She said she doesn’t normally medicate for a TSH under 10, and it didn’t seem interesting that I was asking for advice in how to control my elevated cholesterol, which I suspect may be related to the increasing TSH. I am just so disappointed. I trust science based medicine and know my body and do my research. I will have to go… elsewhere to be helped.

Dr. Hester-Clarke is an outstanding physician. She never rushes an appointment, and is very personable. She is thorough and dedicated to her patients.

I have never felt rushed when I see Dr. Hester-Clarke. She is very caring and I feel like I have her undivided attention. I leave with written instructions if there's any changes with medication. I could not be more pleased with my treatment in her office.

I have been treated for type 1 diabetes with Dr. Clarke for 6 or 7 years. She has helped me get my A1c down from above 7 to 5.7. (below 7 is good control.) Because I have moved a lot, I have had many diabetic endocrinologists. She is competent and caring.

Terrible doctor if dealing with thyroid issues. Refused necessary thyroid medication refill without medical basis for refusal. Office claimed to have called several times about this prior, when had only contacted once and I had spoken to them at that time to forward lab results. Very shady practice. She does not care if her patients are suffering and only that she is right. They will treat you like a drug addict for asking to increase thyroid medication. Filing complaint with medical board.
