Dr. So Mui Wong, MD

I have consulted Dr. Wong for my annual checkups since 2004 as I had a very good experience with her being the doctor who helped deliver my son. Recently, while I was trying to setup an appointment with her office, I learned that she had retired as of 2004. When I requested a copy of my medical history, I was charged a $23 fee before 22 scanned pages were emailed me. To my surprise, there were very few instances of Dr. Wong's medical reports included in it. Many of those reports were copy of mammograms and pathology report to check for urine infection. What surprised me the most was one of her last reports where the front desk/receptionist narrated a half page paragraph about how difficult I was while booking my annual checkup. The receptionist was so rude and was a barrier between myself and the doctor's office, and there was nothing I could do to reach anyone else to tell my side of the ordeal. I disconnected and tried calling a few more times but the same rude person picked up. If… doctor Wong relied of such staff and never really got to hear the patients' side of the ordeal, I am sure she must have lost many clients over time for this very reason . My only regret is that I did not mention it to her personally later during my visitation as I thought of sparing her the story of my ordeal. It sure was a strange way to part ways with her office.

Best doctor I have ever been to…THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Today was my first visit and I couldn’t be happier. Nurse Nadine and Dr Wong are top notch. From the moment I walked in the doctor’s office I felt welcomed by these two angels. They genuinely care about their patients, they’re the epitome of professionalism, extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and I never felt rushed during my appointment. Thank you both for your concern and excellent, quality care provided. You are making a real difference in people’s life…..especially mine. Thank you

I have been going here over 15 yrs never had a problem. Until one appt. I had to reschedule due to my period. I had Dorothy talk to me like she was the Dr. She told me the office has no late nights and I must come in next week if I want a spot. I had to use a half aday from work and pick my daughter from school early because I had no one to pick her. After I finished my visit nurse, I told the the Dr my situation she says I'm sorry I was not there I dont know was said, Dr told me the front desk staff document what is said on your chart, I noticed she wrote a paragraph of complaint on my chart. I have never been treated so harsh in on my life. Then I come to find out the women in the front desk Dorothy is the Dr niece, I guess family over patient rules. I am definitely looking else where. Advise do not cancel your appts you will be treated like a horrible person. Make sure to never cancel and get your period on time this family practice does not like you to cancel because of your… period and just like a Baseball game three strikes your out. I guess I'm on my second strike and i am looking to get out.

Dr Wong is a great doctor however her secretary is an unfriendly uneducated and poor mannered employee, making the experience at Dr. Wong’s office unpleasant and frankly not worth the time. I’d recommend staying away from this office you will get no help from the front desk. I will be changing physicians and it’s unfortunate because Dr Wong is a great OB just not worth the frustration with calling her office and getting information from them.

All the positive reviews on this site must have been written by Dr. Wong herself. She and her office staff are incredibly rude.

Dr. Wong's office staff are courteous and caring. Dr. Wong is an excellent physician. She is caring, listens to what her patients have to say, and is though.

Dr. Wong is wonderful. Very thorough, patient, kind, gentle and explains all your options. She takes a very conservative approach to your issues and does not pressure you into unnecessary tests or procedures. Her nurse is the best!! Very kind and funny and patient. Unfortunately the front desk staff is very rude and unprofessional which is a surprise in comparison to the rest of the office. Especially the scheduler. She is combinative, argumentative and unnecessarily rude when you need clarification on something with insurance or billing. The most unprofessional medical office employee I've encountered in 40+ years of seeing doctors. This employee will eventually cost the doctor patients and its a shame since she is very good.

I have not been to see this doctor in three years. Had nothing due in part to anything she did wrong, just lack of insurance. As I do not have another GYN that I know of, or trust, I am once again returning to her. She was always pleasant and explained herself well and always asked if I had any questions. Considering it really isn't one of the most pleasant of exams, what more can one ask for from a doctor? That said, when calling her office to arrange an appointment, I found her phone staff a bit rude and dismissive. As to the question of whether she accepts my specific insurance, I was told to follow up with my carrier. I'm thinking either she accepts my insurance or she doesn't. Not sure why I needed to follow up with my carrier. Additionally, I called with a specific question related primarily to a medication I was just placed on. Again her phone staff "dismissed" my line of questioning with an "I'm not sure what your medicine has to do with the exam". Well maybe when you get your… medical degree you would understand. Lastly, when I explained that due to certain concerns, I was hoping to get an appointment as soon as possible. I was told the first available appointment was in 3.5 weeks. I asked if I could be placed on a cancellation list, to which the persons response was "we don't keep a cancellation list and you have not been here in some time so you are considered a new patient. That is the earliest appointment we have". Certainly a class in sensitivity and compassion needs to be attended by these front office people! Lets hope the appointment itself goes better than my phone experience. Because I have yet to go see her, I will base this review on my experience with the phone staff. Based on my prior experiences with Dr Wong, I would give her a 4. To be continued...

IF YOU WANT TO BE PATRONIZED, TREATED LIKE A CHILD, LECTURED, JUDGED AND OWNED, SHE IS THE RIGHT OBGYN FOR YOU. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, SHE IS STRONG MOUTHED AND NOT SHY ABOUT SAYING ANYTHING (not even relevant) TO HURT YOUR FEELINGS.

Absolutely amazing!!! Love her and love her staff. Best Dr office I have ever been to!!!
