Dr. Socorro Juan Vargas, MD

I went to Backus and had to see this doctor because mine was not available. My usual doctor is wonderful. But this doctor... Well, this is not the first time I’ve dealt with a doctor with horrible bedside manner at this office in Norwich, so I’ve already started to warn people not to go here. I’m so happy to see that I’m not crazy, I’m not alone, and the negative feelings I have associated with this doctor are shared by others. She answered none of my questions. I felt like she was argumentative and rude. I felt like she was trying to scold me and being judgmental. This visit wasn’t very productive, at all. It was definitely aggravating, and I just wanted it to end. I won’t be seeing her again. I wish a far better experience for all of us in the future.

All the negative feedback I found AFTER seeing this doctor is 100% accurate. I was told she was wonderful by hospital staff lol. She’s not. She needs to retire. Please see someone else, avoid...

So her bedside manner is awful, can anyone tell me what she is like otherwise? Is she good at her profession?

This woman was so rude to me .. wouldn’t listen or do further testing. Kick my husband and daughter out cause my daughter was talking ... she didn’t want to hear them talking she said .. don’t visit

My appointment with Dr. Vargas was very stressful as she was rather rude and did not allow me to ask questions or make statements about my situation. She may be a competent physician but her ability to communicate effectively with the patient or to put the patient at ease was extremely limited. I would not return to her for further treatment.

She took over for the retiring doctor and I got stuck with her.All of the negatives about her are correct and I cannot think of 1 positive thing to say.Stated I had not had my blood tested even though it was done in my primary care doctors office and because she did not want to bother looking at the site of the lab that did the testing she decides that it was never done. After the rudeness and disrespect at the second visit we walked out in the middle of the same lecture she gave at the first. I know many people do not like their jobs but when dealing with the sick,there has to be some compassion but she failed to show any.From what I heard she left the practice after only a short time.

Condescending, rude, abrupt, insulting, curt, discourteous......gosh, long list but each word describes my brief experience with her.

Refused treatment despite clear and obvious symptoms. Abhorrent bedside manner. Do not visit.
