Dr. Somdev Roy, MD

I'm writing this review on behalf of my father, who has since passed. When my father was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma in 2008 he was given a prognosis of 6 months. At that time there were few options. Dr. Roy was recommended to us. I went with my father to all of his appointments and Dr. Roy was always respectful to him, told him exactly what was happening with him medically, what my fathers choices were as to what changes that he could make that would make a difference in how much time my father would have. Doing nothing, or fighting...my father changed his diet to all organic, mostly vegetables and fruit, drank more water, stayed active AND took chemotherapy/radiation treatments as Dr. Roy saw fit. Kept his appointments, did his diagnostic tests and went to specialists that Dr. Roy suggested. Doing all of this, my father LIVED for 6 1/2 years after his diagnosis...not just six months. What my father needed at the time of his diagnosis was a doctor that new how to treat… him medically and give his family as much time as possible with him. Dr. Roy was and is that doctor. When I read the negative comments I was compelled to tell our story. People often take the time to complain, but not to compliment. Thank you Dr. Roy for being a big part of the team that gave my family six more years with my father. We cherished every moment of it.

Dr. Roy didn't remember my name after 4 visits (3 months apart) and he was holding my file. He blamed me because my mamo charts were lost in his office. He is rude, unkind, uncaring and I believe his doesn't respect his patients. I left his office with no more knowledge about my cancer than I walked in with.
