Doesn’t listen and doesn’t care for her patients. I had seen her for almost a month now and she still trying to figure out what her diagnosis. I have been calling her office about my aches and pains but instead of her personally call me back, her secretary calls back who has no clue how to treat me.

Dr. Patel and her assistant Jerry are very kind and patient. When Dr. Patel is with me, she listens to my my concerns and I never feel like she is rushing me or judging me. Being a diabetic is hard, tricky, and time consuming. Dr. Patel is always looking for solutions to help me manage my condition in a way that works for me.

Went to her with a host of symptoms and a history of hypothyroidism. My GP’s solution was to LOWER my dose, which made me even more symptomatic. I thought an endocrinologist would be better equipped to fix the issue. Good idea – bad doctor. 1) She did not listen. 2) She did NO examination. 3) She asked no questions. 4) She did not come up with any plan of action. 5) She agreed with the GP who said each symptom should be treated separately. Yeah, that's a brilliant thought, because of course no disease is defined by multiple symptoms! “Depressed? See a physiatrist. Tired? See a sleep specialist.” No – seriously. My GP said that – and so did she! 6) I asked her straight out "is memory issues, confusion, dizziness, nausea and depression symptoms of hypothyroidism as well as the most common symptoms?" She responded "I don't know. There are no true symptoms with thyroid issues." WHAT? SERIOUSLY? Where did you go to school? What did you study? 7) When I presented the fact that my… former endocrinologist said I had 18 of the 20 most common symptoms of hypothyroidism and had the doctor even tested my thyroid with that list I would not have needed the pacemaker - she said "thyroid symptoms are so vague that there is no real list of valid symptoms." WHAT? WHAT? I went home and looked up my symptoms on symptom checker and it said "hypothyroidism", which means my dose is wrong AND there ARE a list of multiple symptoms. I then looked hypothyroidism up on the Mayo Clinic website. Guess what I found? A LIST of symptoms for hypothyroidism, which included memory issues, confusion, dizziness, nausea and depression along with other more common symptoms of the disease. So after all of that nonsense she ended the session and I was left wondering - "so what's the plan"? She had none. She said "Wait 2 weeks and go have some blood drawn to check your T3 and T4 if you think its your dosage. Make an appointment for 3 months from now." So, I thought, you have a patient who is presenting with a list of severe symptoms that previously lead to a heart attack and pacemaker and you are sending them home with no plan outside of wait 2 weeks and we'll take some blood? Don't you want to ask any questions? Don't you want to examine me? Don't you want to know anything about what's going on? DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

Would not recommend. Been going to her over a year and still have the same issues from day one!!!

Excellent doctor! Very friendly, performs a through check and talks about options available.
