Dr. Sona P Patel-Grimm, MD

My visit was amazing. I had appointment with Dr Sona Patel Grimm. She is amazing and easy to talk to because she listens to you and she makes sure you are comfortable. I just love how she don’t rush you and take time you. I look forward seeing her every year. I wish most doctors are like her.

Dr. Patel-Grimm is the most kind, caring, and compassionate physician you will ever meet. I have been going to her for over 15 years. Her clinical approach has developed and changed over the years to fit my gynecological needs. I know if I give her a call with a problem or question, she will call me right back and give me the feedback and support I need. Her priority is the well-being of her patients. I cannot recommend her enough! She is the best OB-GYN to see no matter your age!

Dr. Patel-Grimm is the most attentive, caring, professional and knowledgeable doctor I have ever met. Ever since she has delivered me via c-section she has been my favorite doctor. She is beyond just a doctor, as she is kind, patient and compassionate, which can be lacking from other doctors in this field.

As someone who’s been going to Capital Women’s Care and Dr. Patel-Grimm since 2016, I feel really disheartened to write this, but I can no longer recommend CWC to anyone with a uterus following a very traumatic experience. Following the Roe v. Wade leak, I immediately scheduled a consultation to discuss tube ligation. Following a brief discussion to update my medical history, I was asked why I wanted the procedure done. I was told that in her experience, Dr. Patel-Grimm found that patients around my age experienced regret of having the procedure done because it was permanent and that she would not do the procedure for someone of my age unless there’s a medical necessity. I asked her if this was the case, why was my appointment scheduled if this could have been explained through a phone call, and she responded that it wasn’t “appropriate for her time to be on the phone for 10-15 minutes.” In essence, she wanted to bill me. I was told she would put in another IUD and consider having the… conversation in 7 years when it expires. After I told her I would be seeking the procedure elsewhere, she thought it would be appropriate to ask me about my current sexual partners and give me a hug (she didn’t ask-she just did hugged me, I’m assuming to make herself feel better). I understand if she’s not comfortable in doing the procedure as a surgeon, but I don’t appreciate that I was clearly only there for Capital Women’s Care to collect my money. Additionally, Dr. Patel-Grimm’s behavior was inappropriate. Your gynecologist is one of the last places where bodily autonomy should be questioned and made to feel like a child.

Dr. was familiar w/my chart (& me!) when she came in. I never felt rushed, or uncomfortable. She’s very approaching & very caring about me as a patient. I almost look forward to my annual gyn appt (that says a lot!)

Dr. Patel-Grimm is the most knowledgeable, patient, kind doctor I have had in my life. She has given me the information I need to make good decisions about my health… and the care to make visiting the doctor a positive experience. If you have had negative experiences with your medical care, try Dr. Patel-Grimm… she will turn that around for you. A true gem and I feel blessed to have found her.

I've had 4 babies with this practice and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Patel-Grimm. She has excellent judgement, and knows just what to do and when to ease my anxiety. She is extremely friendly, thorough, gentle, and patient. She caringly delivered my healthy baby without any tearing. When I had an unexpected complication (a softball sized hematoma that needed to be evacuated), Dr. Patel-Grimm diagnosed the problem quickly and competently. I will be forever grateful for my babies' health and my own.

I’m not someone who writes reviews, but Dr. Patel-Grimm is truly a doctor that goes above and beyond so I feel this is the very least I can do. I’ve been going to her for 5 years and and I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to have her as one of my doctors. She has great bedside manner and just makes you feel so comfortable like you are talking to a friend. What I’m most impressed about is how she is so willing to go above and beyond the normal standards with her patients. For example: she stayed an hour past her 12 hour middle of the night shift at the hospital to deliver my first son, she has personally called me back after hours to discuss concerns of mine, and is currently doing everything possible to help ease my worry about a potential problem with my current pregnancy. All of the doctors at Capital Women’s Care are great, but she is definitely one of our favorites!

I have seen many doctors for my medical condition over the years, and this doctor was by far the rudest I have ever encountered- both condescending and aggressive. She preferred to argue rather than discuss my symptoms and treatment. Instead of leaving the appointment feeling confident and reassured, I felt bullied and defeated. I would suggest seeing another doctor in this practice. The staff were very kind and courteous.
