If I never have to visit this doctor and her disrespectful, offensive staff again, it will be too soon. My first appointment with Dr. Hedge was met with a 45 minute wait only to finally be seen by a doctor who did not even bother to review my chart before coming to her. Please note she had ample time to do so, I had my records sent to her SEVERAL weeks before my appointment. I have a very lengthy and complicated history with thyroid disease, and to not have any prior knowledge of my case before my initial visit showed a complete lack of professionalism on her part. She was unable to answer any of the questions that I brought with me since she had not bothered to inform herself of her new patient. In her defense, she did follow up with my with a lengthy phone call several days later, but let me note, it was on HER time. She called at a very inconvenient time for me, but I had no choice but to drop everything and try to remain undistracted by my hectic family life in those 30… minutes she gave me. Let me reiterate, that this would NOT have been necessary if she had taken the time to review my history before our initial appointment thereby not wasting either one of our precious time during the appointment. My follow up appointment was made for 3 months later and was not easy to schedule. Now granted this is mostly due to my lack of flexibility with my schedule, but nonetheless, the appointment was made over 3 months in advance. I arrived 10 minutes late for the appointment, but was then forced to wait in a line to check in for an additional 10 minutes, thereby making me 20 minutes late, (I admit to the first 10 minutes being my own fault, and I am typically not late, but the additional 10 were waited on because of a clearly over scheduled and under-staffed office. When they finally checked me in, they accused me of being 20 minutes late, again, I take full responsibility for the first 10 minutes, but absolutely NONE for the following 10, and by the way, did I not wait 45 minutes for that first appointment? Somehow this is okay for the doctor to do, but the patient cannot be 10 minutes late? I was told that I could not be seen, but not after being berated by a very disrespectful staff member. Although they gave me other options for appointments later in the week, none were convenient, and frankly after the treatment I received by the doctor on that first appointment, and then by the staff at the more recent one, I would never want to be seen at their office again.
