Dr. Sonya Janice Chelliah, MD

Upcharged my wellness visit Being in healthcare myself, I'm extremely disappointed. Had an annual wellness visit with Dr. Chelliah which should have been free of cost through my insurance. I received a bill for 60.00 from her office. Dr. Chelliah had charged me for an office visit in addition to the wellness visit citing additional information was discussed in the visit warranting the upcharge. In my opinion this was not true, ample time was spent for an annual wellness visit. Nothing discussed should have warranted an office visit charge. A member of her staff called to address my concerns. She was very uninterested in how I felt this was not right and her only explanation was that I had signed papers stating this could be the case. Apparently this was not the first compliant about this specific issue. I would not recommend Dr. Chelliah or this office. Very unprofessional and unethical practices.

Disappointed with this doctor. She gave initial impression of wanting to help me but in the end she failed. Physical exams last mere seconds. The support staff were not thorough and had inappropriate attitudes when I contradicted their paperwork versus what the doctor actually said to me. The staff managing messages through the MyChart App gave me erroneous answers and were unknowledgeable about subject matter. I received multiple referrals to physicians who all had very poor ratings. Why would I go to anyone with a 2.6 rating? I think the physicians who accept Medicare patients should provide quality of care regardless of their compensation. Dr Chilliah did listen but not enough and she did not keep her word. I asked to take her up on her offer of a note and she reneged. This less than satisfactory experience has wasted my time and my meager funds. IMHO I do not recommend this doctor nor this office.
