Dr. Sonya Diane Hintz, MD

Dr. Hintz has been a true asset to my journey of understanding myself and elucidating areas in which I can explore in a positive and growth-directed sense. While at first I was nervous about her directedness during a time of stress and felt unease at the beginning of treatment, I found her approach to be very useful during times I had the opportunity for reflection to tackle areas of my life that I had not explored. She truly seeks to understand her patients and to provide both concrete and abstract input that aids in one’s journey towards wellness. She is sensitive, yet not apprehensive to help clients move beyond their previous barriers and defenses, and yet, she approaches such in a sensitive and humanistic sense. If you are looking for a therapist to solve your problems swiftly and without much introspection, she is not the therapist for you. If you are seeking a deeper understanding of yourself and an avenue forward to promote your goals, then I highly recommend Dr. Hintz.

I found Dr. Hintz to relate authoritatively, lacking warmth and compassion. She was verbally aggressive when I asked for kinder communication. I terminated and found a very helpful psychiatrist that I feel understands, accepts and respects me.

Was insensitive and disrespectful

She caused me to doubt myself in many ways and misdiagnosed me as having a disorder that I don't /didn't have. This led to a medication regimen under which I felt tortured for about a year.

I found her cold, boring, apathetic, pompous, entitled, offensive, and rather unintelligent. didnt help me at a smidgen even though i saw her around 6-8 times.

Caring, effective, excellent. I couldn't be happier about her as a doctor.
