Dr. Sonya Lazarevic, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr. L for over a year, and I appreciate her always listening and considering my experience and desired treatment plan while helping me make adjustments to my medicine. Past doctors have prescribed me too high of doses of SNRIs and I wanted to wean down, and she has successfully helped me manage it. I also appreciate her understanding of wholistic health, embracing the benefits of meditation and yoga as part of a treatment plan. She also gives me great recommendations for other types of specialists in the city if I need one. Highly recommend.

Talking to Dr. Lazarevic was like trying to open up to a plant. She was cold, lifeless, didn't display the slightest bit of empathy or emotion, and had next to nothing to say. When she did speak, it was to scold me for being late (I wasn't, her receptionist failed to notify her that I was in the waiting room) and recommended I see another doctor. I followed her suggestion and found someone else, but when I canceled our second appointment, she charged me a cancellation fee! That's right, a cancellation fee for following her recommendation to seek treatment elsewhere. Unbelievable. I strongly discourage anyone from seeing Dr. Lazarevic.

I find Dr. Lazaravic to be very comforting and effective. Her approach is casual and slow, creating a very open environment, free of judgement. She challenges me to understand myself and I feel like we work as a team. I would recommend Dr. Lazaravic to those who require supportive therapy and aren't afraid to put work into their progress.

Direct, friendly, and to the point.

This doctor spent more time talking about herself and her success than in listening to me. I felt I was being lectured to. A big ego and no empathy or humility. A very unpleasant experience and I will not return.

Dr L was helpful, good listener, ontime, she helped me reduce the number of meds I was on safely.

I don't belong to that community, but I was shocked when she made an off-color, disparaging comment. It's consistent with a really superior attitude. A bad experience all round.

Very unfriendly, sharp. A big ego -- seemed to be more interested in herself than me. Had to wait an unreasonable time and then spent little time with me. A very unpleasant experience all round.

While I was waiting for the appointment to start, I overheard her in the hallway talking to a fellow staff member, she was whining how she's gotten "sooo fat" and needs to lose weight asap. When she walked into the room, I was surprised to see she is a slim woman with a petite build. Clearly has body image issues so you should probably avoid if you have an eating disorder or body dysphoria since she seems to think anyone over size 2 is fat. The appointment was a waste of time, mostly she nodded and said little. Office was clean and nice. About 10-15 min wait which is standard.

One of the rudest, most unprofessional doctors I've ever met. At the time I was only 19, had just left a situation of domestic violence for my personal safety, was struggling to find a safe home. A social worker referred me to Dr.L for a consultation. Dr. L was rude, disparaged my looks, suggested I return to living in an abusive environment. She also talked about herself quite a bit. Avoid her at all costs, she is disgraceful!
