Dr. Sophia Lee, MD

Dr. Lee had been my primary for about 5 years. About 3 years ago I started complaining about always being tired. Every single visit, which was many, since she was also monitoring me for high blood pressure. Every time, her solution was "got to bed earlier". Finally, the exhaustion was so bad that I went to a cardiologist (also because I didn't think my blood pressure was stable, either). The cardiologist asked me a lot of questions, took an EKG, and told me that she suspected that I have sleep apnea. She sent me to a sleep disorder doctor, who tested me and diagnosed me with SEVERE sleep apnea. Awakened over 67 times/hour (all night long!!), stopped breathing a lot, etc. No wonder I'm exhausted! Sleep apnea can cause high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, among other ailments if not treated. I'm scheduled to get a CPAP this week and looking forward to a good night's sleep! Also, 3 years ago I had major surgery. Dr. Lee had to clear me for surgery, but she scheduled my pre-op… tests too far out--I had to have the tests repeated within the 30 day time frame that the hospital would accept the tests! When I was in her office for the final visit before my surgery, she never said "Good luck with your surgery" or anything remotely compassionate. Definitely not warm & fuzzy. And it was downhill from there. She is no longer my doctor.

Dr. Lee has both an exceptional professional approach and demeanor. I am very impressed with Dr. Lee's very logical process. Dealing with Dr. Lee is like working with a highly-disciplined research scientist who "gets it". Very impressed and grateful to have found such an excellent primary care physician.

Dr Lee is very professional and thorough. She is no nonsense about your health, and communicates in a gentle and intuitive way. I have seen her for years, and look forward to my visit. I always leave knowing I am in excellent care.
