Dr. Sravisht Iyer, MD

Fantastic doctor. He is truly a gentlemen and great at his work. He answered all of our questions prior to surgery and discussed all of my options. It was worth it. He is by far amazing!

I came to see Dr Iyer in intractable pain that more or less took over my life for months. He recommended a laminectomy on my L-3-4 rather than fusion at this time. ( my first laminectomy on a different area from a different doctor did not work). I was not convinced but went along with his proposal. All I can say is I am more or less pain free after 4 weeks and beginning to live again. Dr Iyer is brilliant and he saved my life.

Would make this 10 stars if I could. Just had laminectomy surgery 5 days ago, and my back pain and leg numbness is completely gone. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I previously had to sit all the time and could not walk more than 1/4 mile before having to sit down to stop the pain. The day after surgery, I walked 5 miles with no pain and continue now on day 6 with complete absence of pain. Dr. Iyer did minimially invasive removal of about 10% of my L2-3 disk. Surgery was less than 2 hours. I woke up and could tell right away...no pain, not even from the surgery itself. I've just taken ibuprofen since, but hardly even need that. Wish I would have done this sooner. Glad that I chose HSS and Dr. Iyer. He answered all questions at the initial consulation along with his very nice physicians assistant, Carly. On day of surgery, Dr. Iyer met with me before hand to answer any further questions. He even called me the day after surgery as did Carly to both check up on… me. HSS staff was also very professional and capable. I highly recommend Dr. Iyer. He has given me back my mobility and quality of life.

Dr. Iyer was kind, considerate and concerned about helping me with sciatic pain that had been disabling. The pain interfered with my ability to enjoy life. He performed a laminectomy and I’ve been pain free ever since. Everyone at HSS is wonderful, from check in to discharge I was treated with respect and kindness.

My lower back pain from scoliosis, herniated discs and arthritis had progressed to the point that I was unable to walk >2 blocks or stand for 10 minutes. Epidurals, nerve ablation and laminectomy did not bring any relief. Dr. Iyer performed an L1-S1 spinal fusion on Sept 22 that has changed my life. While the first 4-6 weeks post-op were no fun, after 2.5-3 months I can walk as much as I want pain-free. Not only was the result spectacular but dealing with Dr. Iyer and his PA, Carly Dudek was a pleasure. They ensured I understood all my options and were always easily available (Carly was even available to renew a prescription Thanksgiving morning!). I cannot give a high enough recommendation to Dr. Iyer and the staff at HSS.

From the first time I was seen to being fit in for urgent surgery because of insane pain, Dr. Iyer and his staff are wonderful!

Dr. Iyer, and his team supported my emergency condition while the hospital was shut down, arranged to take me in, and literally saved my life. I was in so much pain, it had become unbearable. I was discharged early to reduce possible contamination. I came home pain free and healthy. It's been three months and I'm as good as new.

Dr. Iyer successfully and fully repaired my cervical spinal canal which was in danger of closing. He performed a laminectomy and fusion which fully opened the canal and eliminated the possibility of paralysis. He was very responsive to my concerns and was excellent in every way possible. I owe my improved health solely to his efforts.

Dr. Iyer is a very rare find in today’s medical profession. I knew he was well educated and extremely competent, since he was associate with HSS. He took all the time I needed at the initial consultation to decide to proceed with surgery for my diagnosis of sever, painful and debilitating spinal stenosis. He was clear and concise about his plan to help me. Dr. Iyer’s support team are all smart, pleasant, compassionate, and able to accommodate my need to travel 6 hours to the hospital for surgery and appointments. When I text a question or concern, I usually get a personal answer within a few hours at most! The results three weeks after surgery are remarkable: no more pain to walk or stand. It feels like I am getting my life back and I can continue to work and travel
