Dr. Sreedhar S Samudrala, MD

As an adult with ADD/ADHD, it is very nerve-racking to have to move cities and ultimately have to change doctors because of the stigma around ADHD medication. It can feel like a criminal investigation when a doctor is going over your medical history to prove whether or not you are legitimately in need of stimulant medication. I also find it rare after 15 years of taking medication that a doctor can provide new information to me. You can very easily tell when a doctor spits out a fact that he overheard from another doctor or that he skimmed through on an article versus those who actually read the current research out there with the purpose of helping their patients. That being said Dr. Sam was absolutely refreshing to meet and my experience was the opposite of my apprehensions. He did his tests, reviewed my background, spoke to me about my experience, listened, and treated me like a patient rather than a criminal looking to abuse a drug. He also made suggestions on my medication… backed up with research and experience. Another great thing is that he did not directly address me being overweight as the root of all my health problems. So many doctors will only focus on the obvious and not listen to your underlying concerns that could be the root of your weight issues. I would recommend Dr. Sam and the entire AFD clinics' staff to absolutely everyone. While running a busy practice everyone was so kind and caring. I found them by happenchance and discovered the jackpot of primary care teams.

In addition to being the medical director for 4 clinics in Nashville, Dr. Sam is by far the best general practitioner in Nashville. I have lived in Nashville for over 15 years and have seen several PCP's in that time--I had very high expectations based on my family doctor before I moved to Nashville, and expected that treatment from all doctors. When I found Dr. Sam, I initially chose him because he is very experienced in treating ADD/ADHD and Adult ADD/ADHD. Having managed my ADD for most of my life, I am knowledgeable about treatment and symptoms, etc; however, Dr. Sam continues to teach me things about managing my condition. This week I was injured in a car wreck, and Dr. Sam was not able to see me when I went to his clinic (Dr. Davis examined me). I emailed him because I was having additional issues the next day (and assumed he would be taking over my care). He has emailed to check on me every day since the accident, and worked me in for follow an emergency follow up… visit by another provider in his clinic, and even though he wasn't the treating physician on the follow up visit, he still came in to check on me and make sure I was ok. Saying he truly cares for his patients is an understatement. I have a very large "framily" in Nashville, and I am all too quick refer them to him.

I really liked Dr. Samudrala's approach towards attending me and my wife. Very caring and explains things very clearly while attending us. Have referred and will refer him to my friends.

He is a good person,he cares for his patients the only real complaint is the wait time other than that I would rec30ommend Sreedhar or any of his staff.

Dr. Sam has such a positive outlook on life, he genuinely lives by the motto live happy and healthy.

I hadn't been to AFD's in a long time because I got tired of making appointments but being seen in the same priority as walk ins. I thought I'd try them again today with an appointment and I had to wait 2 hr's to be seen, ended up being the last patient out 3 hours later. My care was GREAT but the wait time for an appointment is ridiculous and a true concern.
