Dr. Rao is a Houston native that graduated with highest honors from Rice University. He attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston for his medical school training as well as for his residency training in diagnostic radiology. Dr. Rao was selected as Chief Resident during his tenure. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. For nearly 20 years, Dr. Rao has been in private practice in the Houston area as a diagnostic and interventional radiologist. Dr. Rao has served as director of Radiology at many hospitals and imaging centers throughout the Houston area. He is a board certified radiologist with the American Board of Radiology and member of the Harris County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and American College of Phlebology. His expertise in ultrasound and ultrasound guided procedures makes him the ideal physician in the diagnosis and treatment of venous …disease.

Little discomfort (a few needle sticks) procedure lasted about twenty minutes. Looking forward to the rest of the treatment program.

Simple office visit for the procedure. No pain whatsoever besides the pinprick of the Novocain needle. Dr Rao spoke with me the entire time explaining exactly what he was doing and why. He showed me the ultrasound screen and helped me understand what he was looking at as he treated the veins in my legs. And the result is I can walk pain free again. Many thanks to everyone at the Vein and Wellness Center.

I was referred by a friend after months of saying how much pain I felt on my legs. After meeting Dr. Saunders and some assistants, I will say they made me feel very comfortable. I met Dr. Rao for my first surgery and I was very much impressed not only with his surgery assistants, but also with Dr. Rao. Dr. Rao has a great bedside manner. He made me feel so very comfortable and took my mind off the surgery. It made it go by quickly and with very little pain. I definitely will refer Texas Vein and Wellness Institute to my friends and family.

Both Dorie and Dr Rao were such experts and treated me like family. I am scheduled for a procedure in a couple of weeks. I'm actually looking forward to going back to the office. Great staff all the way around!
