Dr. Srinivas Vourganti, MD

Dr. Vourganti does not take time to greet you, truly listen to you, talks over you, and does NOT do what he says he will do. As a sufferer of chronic UTIs, I’ve been around the block and understand how a urinalysis works — I also understand that MOST practitioners complete a dipstick test prior to sending for culture. This is standard even at MinuteClinic or any urgent care, so you’d think a UROLOGIST would complete one. I asked Dr. Vourganti 3 times at my appointment to complete a dipstick in addition to the culture, so that if I do in fact have an infection (and not a flare up of interstitial cystitis symptoms), I can start my antibiotic right away (and if it’s resistant once the culture comes back, I can switch antibiotic — YES, I know that dipstick will not show all the results we need, but it’s a jumpstart to help. I know how it works). This was a Wednesday, and come Friday, I’m still in pain and my symptoms are worsening. Vourganti did NOT complete a dipstick after me asking… multiple times to please do so. Additionally, I was told by the RUSH staff that my culture results will be out in 72 hours. It’s been WELL over 72 hours and NOTHING YET, having to call the on call doctor to get answers. I started an antibiotic on Friday as it was clear nobody would get back to me, and the ONLY good thing Vourganti did was prescribe this in advance so I could have on hand. I was told to wait to take the antibiotic until I get my results back, to see if it’s cystitis or a UTI, and if a UTI, which bacteria. With worsening symptoms (I.e., on Friday I drank 65 oz of water and was barely urinating, burning, etc), I started the antibiotic as a prayer of feeling better. I can not say how disappointed and disgusted I feel with how my care was handled. Will be finding a new urologist. AS AN EDIT, now I have gotten my urinalysis results back on Sunday. No provider has called me to go over results but seeing in MyChart that I DO have an infection. I’m thankful I listened to my own body and started the antibiotic and didn’t adhere to what was said by Dr. Vourganti. RUSH Urology is the absolute worst and I will NEVER be returning. So disappointed and so glad this infection didn’t spread to my kidneys. If they can’t handle a simple UTI here I wouldn’t trust them with anything more complex.

Dr.vourganti is a very good urology doctor, he listens to what they have to say, and treats them accordingly to what's going on with you.

I give Dr.vourganti 5stars,he treated me very good when I seen him, and he's very knowledgeable in his field of urology, and has a good bed side manner, hip hip hooray.

Dr. Vourganti is very thorough, well informed clearly caring professional. He has been an excellent partner in my journey to conquer prostate cancer. I feel lucky to have found him.

Dr. Vourganti is knowledgeable, caring and has excellent bedside manner. He answered all my question and never made me feel like I was rushed or asking to many questions . He is one of the Dr's that goes above and beyond. I am so happy I found such a caring doctor!
