Dr. Stacey Allen Wood, MD

I had this patient/doctor interaction was the worst. There was no interest in addressing my true concerns (fibroid issues and wanting to conceive). I was not given direction on options for removing the fibroids or impact that fibroids would have on a pregnancy. He was more focused on me getting a mammogram. I have never left a bad review for a doctor but this warrants a bad review. I will never ever ever schedule an appointment with this doctor. Horrible experience!!!!!!!

My doctor (whom I love by the way) left the practice during the last part of my pregnancy & I had to be rotated between the remaining doctors. 1 of the doctors seemed to vary in his kindness from visit to visit & 1 in particular was never pleasant. I will say all 3 of the female doctors were pleasant. However, I felt Dr. White & Dr. Wood seemed to genuinely care about me & didn't make me feel like just another appointment. These were the same 2 doctors that were on call when my baby was born. Dr. Wood was there when I checked in & Dr. White delivered my baby. Dr. Wood was there for the follow up care. I am so glad to have had them by my side.

Dr. Wood is very professional and very easy to talk to. I would highly recommend him! He actually sat with me and fully explained my ER report and what everything meant. He is very punctual with appointment times which I really appreciate.

Dr. Wood diagnoised me with endometriosis the first time I seen him, with out an exam. Prior to my visit with Dr. Wood I had seen 2 Doctors, 1 OBGY, had a ultra sound and MRI. I was told that I had normal cyst developing on my ovaries each month prior to my menstral cycle and the severe pain was due to the cyst rupture. I knew that even if that was true there was somthing causing it and all of those doctor could not give me a definate answer. So I asked for a referal for a second opinion and that was when I seen Dr. Wood. I told Dr. Wood about my pain, symptoms, what my doctor & obgyn said and about the ultra sound & MRI. He asked me a few simple questions and told me I had endometriosis. There arnt any test to confirm the diagnosis the only way to confirm is with laproscopic surgery. Dr Wood did laproscopic surgery where he found & removed the endometriosis. There is no cure but it was a major relif to have him confirm and diagnois my problem. From my personal experience I was very… happy with Dr. Wood and I plan to continue seeing him for treatment.

I love Dr. Wood ! He has been my doctor for the past 20 years.....I have changed insurance plans to keep Dr. Wood as my ob doctor. His bedside manner is very calming and professional. I love him!

Patient and understanding. Always willing to take time and fully answer my questions. Worked well to coordinate my care with my primary doctor.

Dr. Wood has been my OB/GYN for about 10 years and has seen me through two pregnancies and most recently a partial hysterectomy. He has been phenomenal and really takes time to LISTEN and answer my questions. He is an awesome Dr. He delivered both of my son's and I have been going to him for over 21 years!! I recommend Dr. Wood before any other Dr. He genuinely cares for his patients as demonstrated by the hospital visits after the deliveries of both my children and my recent hysterectomy. He takes pride in the work that he does. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Wood was always very prompt. He is not overly warm/fuzzy. I went to him after I found out I was pregnant (a surprise) and my previous gyn/ob was out of network. I had a history of miscarriages and needless to say, i was VERY anxious most of my pregnancy. I would not say he went out of his way to put my mind at ease, he seemed rather detached in that matter. That may not matter to many of you. BUT my biggest complaint is that after reviewing my birthplan four days before delivering my baby (and stating that there was nothing that was out of the ordinary with my birthplan), Dr. Wood went against my wishes on TWO accounts and NEVER told me! First, he broke my water as soon as i got to the hospital. He did not explain what he was doing nor did he tell me waht he did, and i only found out he broke my water after he left the room when the nurse told me that there was mecomium in the bag of water. Secondly, and my biggest complaint by far, is that he gave me an episiotomy. Again, without… no notice he was doing so nor without telling me after the fact. I delivered a 6 lb baby and only pushed for 20 minutes. It was a very smooth, calm delivery. As a matter of fact, after they took my baby to clean her, I was chatting with my doctor about the repair (which i believed to be from a tear) and he merely said he was giving a few stitches for the repair. It was a very calm, relaxed environment with just my husband and I present, this seemed it would be perfect time for him to tell me he gave me an intervention such as episiotomy. Not a word from him). My husband happened to mention a couple hours after i delivered that he saw the Dr. with a metal tool 'down there' when i was pushing. I inquired with the nurse who told me that yes, she did see the doctor give me an episiotomy. I confronted him the next morning when he was rounding about this. He merely said, yes, he did and never gave an explanation. He did admit that he knew it was against my wishes to have one (unless of course, it was medically necessary). He did not state that he did so out of medical need. He truly just shrugged it off. I was appalled. If you want a birth experience in which you feel you are collaborating with your healthcare provider, DO NOT go to Dr. Wood.

Great Dr. Takes time to talk to you and make sure that you understand what is going on. Returns calls personally and is very caring. Thanks Dr. Wood --- would not go to any other Dr.
