I was only 5 minutes into my session before I asked to cancel. She was condescending and rude from the start. She did not smile and introduce herself to me. I felt like I was being judged for everything I said and she seemed annoyed to be in the session with me. I am very concerned that someone like this can be out there posing as a helping person. What if I had been in crisis? What if it had been my first time seeking therapy? I would never ever seek therapy again if that were the case. Luckily I know that there are better ones out there but WOW. I am shocked that she has a license honestly. DO NOT seek help with her.

Her dog smells, her room is dirty. She dresses like a stripper which is distracting; she doesn’t listen and plays with her synethic hair extensions the entire session. Not sure who gave this women title of “dr” but do yourself a favor and find a REAL dr!!!!

It took me alot of courage to actually make the first step to see a professional. Instead of feeling better afterwards, I felt much worse. She was condescending and belittling of my concerns. I have horrible anxiety that permeates my brain constantly and makes it difficult to even leave my house and affects every aspect of my life. So I am expecting some intense treatment with some medication and some intense therapy. Instead she told me basically that I have no life and nothing to do with my time so all I do is make up things to worry about. Though I appreciate her straight forwardness (I don't pay for therapy to be coddled) her abrupt "diagnosis" seemed cold-hearted. Is it too much to at least pretend to show some compassion? She went on to do a "treatment" plan which was for me to have some pretty lofty goals for someone who is scared to even leave my house. It is scary for someone who works in mental health to be so nonchalant about real brain issues. I am not, but what if I was… suicidal? It is scary to think of how dismissive she is as a psychologist. She felt like she had me all figured out within a few minutes (lazy, no goals, helicopter mom) so I knew my hope for any real treatment was lost with her. I haven't always been like this, that is why I came to her for help to get my life back. If I wanted to feel better about myself I would fish for compliments on social media. If I wanted to feel worse about myself I would talk to my mom. What I need is real treatment for my mental health, but I won't be getting it with her. At first I was upset, but now it is almost comical how much worse I felt after seeing her. She is like a textbook case for not taking mental health seriously and she is a mental health professional. Her kind of therapy may work for some who just feel a little stuck (she reminded me of maybe like a life coach type) but if you or a family member are in declining mental health, I would not recommend her.

Dr. Johnston is almost always late to appointments and frequently calls less than 24 hours before a set appointment to reschedule. Sessions end early. She brings her dog to sessions. Overall, unprofessional and difficult to trust.
