Dr Chung performed a clavical surgery on my teenage son. The scar is hardly noticeable. My son loved him.

Great doctor and surgeon. Has treated several conditions of mine and my son over the past 8 years with successful outcomes each time. I would recommend Dr. Chung to anyone.

Spent his time lecturing me on other patients, football players, farmers, and how he has arthritis and drops instruments. Would not give me straight yes or no answers to my questions, no solutions to the reasons I went to see him other than ice for pain management, and then insinuated I was a pain med addict even though it took me a year to go thru 20 pain pills.

I was inappropriately referred to Dr. Chung by my insurance. I needed an ortho surgeon to evaluate the feasibility of hip arthroscopy repair. He does not do hip arthroscopy, a relatively new and complicated procedure (his own words). I was concerned when he dismissed the option for arthroscopy without having any personal experience with it, citing shoulder labral tears found on autopsy in people with no symptoms while alive, therefore the labral tear in my hip may not be the source of my pain. I was even more concerned when he insisted on treating conservatively for months to years without even considering hip arthroscopy. In a 15 minute evaluation, he criticized the diagnostic workup done by a team of Physical Medicine MD's and Physical Therapists at Walter Reed over a two month period. My conclusion - he was arrogant to formulate a treatment plan when he did not have the skill set to evaluate ALL the options, especially if it might prolong suffering needlessly.

Dr. Chung met my dad in the hospital and spoke with him and tried to explain everything to him even though my dad has Dementia and has trouble with short term memory. The surgery went really well and after I took dad home I called Dr Chungs office a few times about concerns on draininage and getting the site wet. Dr. Chung spoke with me everytime I called and on our follow-up it took less than 5 minutes to see him and he was very helpful and nice to my dad. It was a really good experience with a truly caring doctor who took time to talk with us. Many thanks
