Dr. Stanley Gene Prough, MD

The staff was wonderful and professional. My wife and I went to speak with Dr. Prough and were extremely disappointed. The Dr. was unprofessional right from the introduction. I have tattoos and caught the Dr. looking at them and he rolls his eyes. Keeping in mind they are not the least offensive or vulgar. He goes on to tell my wife and I that it would be nearly impossible due to my quality of sperm. His only option....of course the most expensive. After doing my research the test results from my sperm analysis didn't confirm his conclusion. Just very rude, opinionated, and offensive.

My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant and decided to go see him after a friend was a patient of his and had a successful pregnancy. We did all tests and were told IVF was the only option and any medications or IUI wouldn’t work yet he couldn’t tell us a reason why we had to go straight to IVF. We felt he was only in it for the money since he immediately jumped to IVF and everyone else I’ve talked to who has gone to him was recommended IVF as well. Fertility problems are stressful enough...go seek a second opinion!

Dr. Prough does come across as very knowledgeable in the field of infertility. However, as a prior patient of his, I highly doubt he has his patients' best interest at heart to a greater extent than he has his bank account at heart. He was quick to suggest that IVF/ICSI was the only way we could get pregnant when my wife and I had actually already gotten pregnant naturally (with the assistance of certain medications) on two separate occasions. Clearly he has the incentive to suggest IVF over less invasive procedures when the former nets him about $20K, and the latter nets him a couple thousand dollars at most. Both he and his staff are willing to lie to your face to get you to sign up for IVF (a staff member went so far as to tell me their success rates were about 60% when their true success rates were about 40% (validated online through SART data)! We ended up going to see Dallas IVF instead and have had a vastly improved experience. Please, don't let this guy take your money. Choose… a more reputable doctor/office.

Wouldn't send my dog or cat to Dr. Prough.

He is an excellent physician who is straight shooting and provides realistic expectations. Our IVF baby is now a happy, healthy 2nd grader. Highly recommend him and his staff.

The worst, Terrible experience, Don't waste your time and Money at TFC, heartache, greedy S.O.B. - Get with the times, old school methods, terrible staff, all you are is $$$$$ to these people.

Dr. Prough is an amazing gynecologist his bedside manner is impeccable. I have been going to Dr. Prough since I was very young, my mother and my sister see him as well. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer at 17 and he helped me every step of the way including performing my surgery and doing my post op care. Dr. Prough really cares about his patients and is one of the reasons I went into the medical profession. Working with doctors every day I have knowledge about what qualities to look for in patient care. I would never want to change doctors and hope he will still be working when I decide to have children.

I've seen Dr. Prough for several years and will be forever grateful that our first IVF cycle was successful. I haven't found him to be interested in diagnosing any underlying issues, only in getting me pregnant. Which, yes, was part of the goal. But I also wanted to figure out what's going on hormonally. My main issues are more with his staff. His billing department is by far the worst billing department of any medical office I've ever been to. We didn't get insurance issues with our son resolved until he was over 6 months old!! And his was the only doctor's office I ever had problems with while we had that insurance. They don't return calls (definitely not timely and usually not ever) and the *only* staff member who can answer IVF financial questions is only in the office sporadically.

I am very pleased with Dr. Prough and his staff. I am so thankful to have been referred to his office!

I loved Dr. Prough he is very kind and caring. He cares about his job. The staff is very nice!
