Dr. Stanley Ohunwu Usen, MD

We have had one visit there and most likely it will be the only one. The Dr was great, the wait was minimal but the staff are quite incompetent. My son has adhd and getting medication pre approved has been a nightmare. I have complained to the insurance so they are aware. No one should have to babysit the practice. The office manager won't call me back and the reason is she is busy. I doubt that seeing as how I have done her job in other practices. I am busy with graduate school, this more than trumps some little office manager job that can be done with ones eyes closed. My next step is to complain to the state board and find a new provider. I cannot and will not deal with people who cannot do their job. Getting a preauth is simple and this has taken a month now. I am disgusted and won't recommend to anyone except to stay away. If I could give this less than one star I would in a moment. 1 star is being nice.

Very under staffed wait time is over two hours staff is rude and overwhelmed with appointments doctor is forgetful and stressed

We called this doctor and I was VERY surprised at being told he could see my daughter for her 12mo well visit the next day! I read his reviews and decided to go ahead and give him a try. We arrived 10min early for paperwork, then waited over 45min in the uncomfortable waiting room, I felt like I was at the court house. I finally asked the staff how much longer before my daughter was seen and was told there were still TWO more people in front of us, even after all that time! I waited a bit more, but after my daughter melted down for the 3rd time, we left. The doctor did call me the next day, asking why I left (I did tell his staff why) I explained that I am not ok with that long of a wait with two small kids. He responded, but to be honest I barely understood what he said, something about working more with the assistants to get pt's back sooner, but waiting in the exam room is no better then the waiting room. So we will not be going back. It appeared he already had too many pt's and was… scheduling everyone too close together.

Diagnosed a strep problem that had even caused my child to have seizures. Even the "best" specialist in town missed it.

Dr. Stanley Usen is a very detailed dr. He gives the patient enough time to find out what is wrong. In my opinion he is the best dr. there is..wouldn't trade him.

Dr Usen listens to the parents' information, comments, and concern with a courteous, pleasant, and professional manner that is usually not seen with very busy physicians! He also has a wonderful way of interacting with his young patients that puts them more at ease in a sometimes scary setting. High marks and kudos to both him and his staff for the high level of professionalism they all demonstrate.

I have 2 kids my oldest is now 4 and my youngest is 18months. I was very lucky to find Dr.Usen when my oldest kid was barely two months old. Dr.USen is the best doctor ive ever met, and I could never change doctors. He really loves kids and its amazing how he treats him. He takes the time and effort to get to know the kids. My babies r never scared of goin to get seen. And also his assistants r very efdicient and nice. I highly recomend parents to go see Dr.Usen he knows and loves what he is doing for our babies.

Dr. Usen is the best pediatrician in the El Paso Area. He has been my son's (5yrs) and my daughter (8 months) since they were born. He takes the time to examine his patients and gives them the right medicine to cure the problem right away. He is very good at answering calls after hours. I have recommended him to all my family and friends and they are very pleased with him. He is now part of our family.

I think Dr. Usen is wonderful!!! My daughter loves him and they treat my daughter well. I have never really had to wait long for an appt plus they are open on saturdays and stay late on Mondays which is a plus!!!

He is a very good Doctor, and takes the time to get to know the children. When they are sick, he quickly determines what is wrong, and doesn't hesitate to elaborate on what could be wrong. No complaints, he is one of the better Doctors for children in the El Paso area
