Dr. Stefan Andrew Swicker, MD

Doctor Swicker is the best. Period. I've had him almost twenty years now and he has not once steered me wrong.

I have been with Dr Swicker for 23 years. He is great doctor. Professional, knowledgeable, patient centered. He has always taken the time to listen thoroughly when I see him. I even had my daughter take him on as her primary doctor when she aged out of pediatrics. That said, his current office staff is lacking in listening skills, tactfulness and professionalism in their phone skills. If it weren't that I like and trust Dr Swicker very much, I would have left the practice years ago.

Waited 5 days for a biopsy result they said would take 3. When the office didn’t return my call for results I had to drive over to the imaging center that performed the biopsy and ask to speak to the radiologist who performed the procedure. She gave me my results and informed that Swicker’s office had had the results for 2 days. He is the worst!

Doctor made me wait the standard 35 to 40 minutes. Looked at 2 month old notes and drew an analysis from that, despite all my symptoms were consistent with systemic candida which had been misdiagnosed by about every other physician in Albany, as well. Only a med tech in urgent care got it right, but she lacked an m.d. title. Did notnlisten to pain I was experiencing. Denied antifungals, despite flear presencenof ringworm. Office manager became indignant when I demanded them and accused them of breaching duty of care. Immediately withdrew from the practice. Went out of network to NYC and got the care necessary. Bottom line: Albany doctors are about 15 years behind current medical treatments, don't follow the modern view that people are not patients, but clients and as such, have a say in their treatment and an explanation for how that practitioner will deal with same and why. What they do notnknow would fill a phone book. I was a product liability lawyer for Pfizer for 13 years: we… invented the billable hour and doctors now utilise it to get paid by inaurance. Get rid of inaurance and goodbye billable hour. The qtality of care will go up, and doctors willnhace to up their performance and bedside manner. Wake up, people.

I have all the confidence one can expect with Dr. Swicker. He is always up to date, very knowledgeable, and most of all...HE LISTENS!! I can't always see him personally which is pretty much the norm nowadays with most physicians but, if I insist his staff will see that my needs are met or he will make time if necessary.

The staff talks down to me. I call to make an appointment and jsut get sent to urgent care everytime. Whats the point of having a docter that never see's you. Dr. Swicker is a good docter but its hard to get an appointment in short notice and lets face it must visits are short notice. who is told they will get the flue two months ahead of time. Will never go back
