Dr. Stefanie Dawn Spaeth, MD

We have been patients of Dr Spaeth's for 10 years. I recently have decided to switch pediatricians. She is competant but my children have never been able to connect with her. On my most recent visit she discussed my daughter's BMI and I was very concerned with her conclusions. This is not a physician I feel comfortable with any longer.

We have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Spaeth. Our son, who is 2.5, feels comfortable around her and her nurse, which is key for us. She is very knowledgeable and takes her time during each visit. She listens-since we usually have several questions-and addresses our concerns. Some of the office staff can be hit or miss but Dr. Spaeth and her nurse are great.

Maybe i'm rating upon my expirience with doctors over all. I am very satisfied with the care Dr. Spaeth has given both my children. The office visits are fast when needed but when i've had concerns that need more time she has given the attention needed.

Dismissive manner lead to a major misdiagnosis. Ended up with a baby in the hospital for a week and 2 months of IV antibiotics at home. Gut feeling told me, from the first couple of visits, to switch pediatrians...wish I would have listened. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR!!!! There are so many amazing pediatricians in Dallas, look elsewhere.

In reference to the previous review, let me start by saying I am a WASP. Maybe that's why I like Dr. Spaeth, but I'm hard-pressed to understand what race and lifestyle has to do with a doctor's competence. (I'm taking the time to write this review primarily because I was so disgusted by the insinuation in the previous review!) Dr. Spaeth is extremely knowledgeable and straightforward. Her office staff is second-to-none - very friendly and organized. Getting a call back or an appointment is easy. If you want a touchy-feely pediatrician that's going to be loosey-goosey with her recommendations, you will not like Dr. Spaeth. We appreciate her matter-of-fact manner when it comes to the health of our daughter - personally, I want the best recommendation a pediatrician has in a direct manner. I feel that if more pediatricians offered their professional experience in this manner, there would be fewer 5-year-olds still using a bottle and a pacifier! She is very gentle and kind with our… daughter and is very clear about milestones and how to solve problems (including behavioral like climbing out of cribs and refusing food). I cannot recommend her highly enough - regardless of whether you are white and protestant, or purple and athiest.

this lady hands you a printed copy of her power point presentation and then reads it to you like you are an idiot. healthcare here is for wasp park city people only. don't waste 2 hours of your day for her to give your baby 2 shots. you will be read the riot act on how to raise a germanic granola baby without any concessions for trusting your own baby's appetite: absurd!
