This physician did not take the time to listen to my symptoms and to hear that I had a history of kidney stones when I came in with right sided abdominal pain. I explained it had been over a year since I had been sexually active but she first did a pelvic exam to check for STD's/infections. I do have PTSD and I was not put at ease for this exam whatsoever, I was also on my period and lying in my own blood the entirety of my visit at the ER. I had also expressed that I had a history of ovarian cysts and a transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound were ordered, but not one for my kidneys and even the ultrasound tech was frustrated that one was not ordered given that I had pain higher up as well and I had expressed that to the doctor, although she barely listened. I never ever go to the ER and I have chronic pain and deal with multiple chronic issues and I only go to the ER if I absolutely have to. I was told by her that maybe it was my normal "chronic pain" or "period cramps"-the diagnosis… listed on my AVS. The dr tried to given me toradol for pain and I cannot have NSAIDS due to being on methotrexate- as I was told I could not by my rheumatologist. I was instead given droperidol (and I was unaware of what this drug was although my mother asked about it because she had never heard of it) and immediately had a panic attack and felt extreme dissociation and depressed the rest of that night and the next morning. I find out once home that this drug is given for pain, but is also an anti-psychotic, paxil is listed as an allergy for me in my chart, and any medications of this sort tend to have adverse reactions for me. When I checked my MyChart once home, I found that my urine results showed calcium oxalate crystals- the exact type of kidney stones I have previously suffered from, and of course my urine dipstick could not show signs of a stone due to there already being gross amounts of blood in my urine being that I was on my cycle. I was told to take tylenol and motrin (once again, cannot have NSAIDS, and did not listen) for pain even though I came there due to my daily pain medication already not controlling the pain I was in.
