Dr. Stephanie Ann Brandt, MD

Dr. Brandt was selected by the courts to handle my child custody evaluation. I can't believe this person is considered a professional by the report and how ill-prepared she was in court. Although my child was not treated by her, I would be seriously concerned for any child under her care. Don't even expect a smile from this physician.

The doctor is in need of therapy; she is extraordinarily needy and inconsistent.

Dr. Brandt gave me the feeling that the welfare of my child was as if my child were her own. It was gratifying how much it seemed she enjoyed what is special about my daughter. She is brilliant, honest and passionate about her work. She does not pander to parents insecurities and will tell you what she thinks. She got my daughter off the meds others prescribed and has helped our family overall. I have found her to be highly supportive and authentic. She is highly professional but what I enjoy is foremost the feeling that there is a flesh and blood person as well as a professional and you don’t always get that.

This doctor is completely incompetent and her lack of judgment regarding the course of medication which was appropriate for me had incommunicably significant consequences in a formative time in my life. While I was under her care I experienced difficulty in accessing my innate intelligence and vitality due to the decisions that were made but even if I were more myself, it would have been impossible to communicate with her. Her insight lacks substance, she interrupts constantly, fails to engage in any higher level understanding of the patient's internal experience, dismisses them and their capabilities, fosters an atmosphere of fear based on her supposed expertise...which is laughable...and generally creates a therapeutic experience that leads nowhere and for me, was profoundly denigrating and literally regressive, as I went backwards both psychologically and neurochemically to the detriment of my life. While my experience is likely to be unique in that the medication she supervised is… very rarely used, I would be wary of anyone who does not recognize or object to the level of change I was subjected to. I am still amazed that I did not see the situation for what it was sooner - but that's only a testament to the seriousness of what occurred. The amount of ignorance that she puts forth is unacceptable for someone weighted with the decisions that must be made in dealing with mental illness.

A true embarassment to her profession.

I strongly do not recommend this woman. At first she seemed fine/nice but her misdiagnoses and poor judgment had very negative consequences on child's life. I find her a bit wacky; including being unprofessional in some her communications. Some of her claimed/implied accreditations I have a hard time believing are true. She is NOT one of the good ones out there.

She makes gross assumptions without objective observations and careful analyses. She has more regard for her wayward opinions than the welfare of her child patients.
