Let's talk numbers. SEVEN - surgeons/healthcare providers that I saw before getting a definitive diagnosis for my chronic, agonizing pain. NINE - incorrect diagnoses I was awarded (lucky me) before someone got it right. ONE - minute it took Dr. Mayer to diagnose my congenital hip dysplasia and resulting soft tissue damage and osteoarthritis. I left appointments with chronic pain management specialists from multiple businesses and assessments with multiple orthopedic surgeons at other facilities sobbing from frustration or insult. I left my appointment with Dr. Mayer crying with relief. I had an answer, a plan, a future that might not include sleeping on ice packs and screaming from the random stabs of pain. All of this wonderful stuff, AND she's kind, professional, informative, knowledgeable, patient, compassionate. I really, truly cannot rave enough about my experience. Also: Thank you Jordan and Brittany for being so incredible.

Dr. Mayer is excellent! She has taken great care of our son during surgery and afterwards.

Dr Mayer treated my daughter for FAI in both hips, but after her last surgery (both with labral repairs) she continued with limited range of motion and pain we were told nothing was wrong and referred to the Pain Clinic. Dr Mayer has a great bedside manner and is a nice person, but she over looked a very common disorder and reason for FAI repair failure and that is femoral retroversion/anteversion. My daughter has lived in constant pain for three years, robbed of all ability to return to sports, and was pretty much accused of having a mental problem and sent to the nightmare that is Children’s Pain Clinic. Retroversion is common enough for someone who is an orthopedist and specializes in disorders of the hip that it should have been considered. My fear is that another child will suffer as mine has and lose so much.
