Dr. Stephen Bane, MD

Dr. Bane was too fast! He was literally in there one minute and you couldn’t even ask questions. Never again!

I had an ENT appointment yesterday with Dr. BANE. WOW what a horrible bedside manner. He was rude didn't want to listen to anything me or my mother had to say. Told me my nose and throat was fine. When in fact I have a lump on the left side of my throat. Threw a Gastrointestinal card in face and told me to make an appointment with them. He found nothing wrong. Didn't even ask why I was there. Didn't read my chart! Horrible.

I have had two visits with Dr. Bane so far, both at his Stafford clinic. Both visits were respectful of my time and did not waste it; I waited less than 15 minutes to be seen the first visit and less than 5 minutes the second. On both visits Dr. Bane has been very attentive, knowledgeable, competent and concerned for my problem. I get the impression that after this many years in practice there isn't much he has not seen. He was careful to ask if I had any additional questions and he recommended a course of treatment and follow-on procedure at his Woodbridge office.

I was recommended to come in to check my tonsils because one was swollen. Dr. Bane attended me for no more than 4 minutes. As soon as he came in he was not very polite. I explained my symptoms to him and he had no interest. He did not care about my concerns. All he would say is “I don’t know what to tell you.” I wanted to know why my tonsil was swollen because it has never happened to me and he couldn’t even explain or reassure me, he just said “I don’t know what they look liked before so I can’t tell you.” It was so uncomfortable and unprofessional. Yes, I did see the reviews and there was some bad reviews but I decided to give it a chance and it was obviously a mistake. His staff was very nice but he was awful. I do not recommend ANYONE to visit this doctor. He does not answer any questions or give any explanations.

Dr. Bane has no bedside manners, compassion and does not spend more then 2 minutes in the room. To top this off his office manager is very RUDE. I left his office in tears. Please seek other doctors.

Dr. Bane is an ENT. However, if he even looks in your nose, it is considered surgery!! Also, they ask you to be 20 minutes early to your appointment and then make you wait 30 minutes past your appointment time before you are seen - as though my time isn't valuable. And $200 for the office visit (not including the 'surgery')! Dr. Bane spent less than 10 minutes from the time he walked in the door until he walked out. $20/minute - who says doctors aren't making good money! Staff was rude when questioned about bill/services provided (or not provided but billed for anyway)!

Great visit, conservative, before recommending surgery. We will be back
