Dr. Stephen Charles Bloom, DO

I have never had a bad issue with dr bloom. I get in right away there's never a long wait. We discuss how things are going and what else could do. He is kind and caring

Would give 0 stars if it was an option. I have seen a good amount of physicians over the past 20+ years and he is among the worst. Wasn't impressed at my first visit as he didnt want to hear anything I had to say but I gave him the benefit of a doubt because he ordered some testing. My follow up visit was a complete waste of time. Once again, didn't ask me any questions or care to hear anything I had to say. Last visit insisted I needed to be on nerve medication and didnt even bother asking how that was working. Instead, based off of one visit with a physical therapist in the office I was told physical therapy would help. Nevermind the fact that I've had no less than 10 courses with no improvement. He wouldn't even discuss results to an MRI HE ordered. The radiologist noted some findings and that follow up MRI in 2-3 months was recommended to ensure stability. Wasnt even able to get an order for that and was told "your primary can handle that." Do yourself a favor and don't waste your… time.

If you have a significant spinal issue or 24/7 pain DO NOT go to Dr. Bloom or Ypsilanti Pain Management. I did 7 years ago and was told “I’m fine” and all I needed was an injection. I delayed having surgery and ended up with permanent nerve damage. (Cervical and Lumbar stenosis) He should not be in pain management or medicine of any kind. He does not listen, acts superior, and obviously has never experienced any significant pain himself. I had the displeasure yesterday of seeing him as my assigned PM&R when I was in the hospital. He did not remember seeing me. Mr. Bloom (hesitate to call him a doctor) is so arrogant that he thinks he can judge your pain better than you can - and will do so before knowing your history. If you are female be extra cautious - Dr Bloom is a misogynist- he will only see you as a “hysterical female” while he is the “Genius Doctor.” What a joke. Please protect your body, mind, spirit and mental health. Stay away from Dr. Bloom.

Unprofessional and passive-aggressive in communication style. Focus so much on timeliness of appointment (6 minutes late! Due to horrible traffic out of our control.) despite being 15-30 minutes early to all other appointments and having to wait. Terrible listener, interrupts and dismisses. Says one thing and then says he never says that. I finally ended up writing down everything he said or bringing along someone else to hear what was said to document care. Would not recommend him as a physician! He has a power complex and does not like to be questioned. Even the simplest of questions, like can you explain the diagnosis? It was a burden to his time. We terminated care.

Said I was 10 minutes late (I looked at the clock, I was 5 min late). Said I had to answer questions going down on his list with no chit chat. (because I was 'late (??)). VERY POOR manner and I felt he didn't even TRY to understand (or care) about me. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Knows nothing about chronic pain. Has no listening skills and treats patients disrespectfully.

Dr Bloom is truly the most arrogant and condescending doctor I have ever had. Seeking his care was an extreme waste of time during a critical time in my TBI Care. I have experience with care over the years and this is bad enough to take my notes and lodge a formal complaint. I will seek the care I need elsewhere so that I can go back to a doctor that listens to me. Do not send your loved ones here. I know there are more of us than are on this review site

Very thorough, helpful. I felt like I was heard. Saw Dr. Bloom in Ypsi though. I don't think he is in Grand Rapids anymore?

He is a great doctor. Kind, Considerate and Honest.
