Dr. Stephen Michael Colameco, MD

I was a patient of his when he was in Woodbury. He is such a smart and caring doctor! His approach to pain and addiction are 2 separate issues. Where most doctors seem to dismiss all pain issues once they know your an addict, Dr. C treats BOTH! I will never forget when he said "just because your an addict does not mean you have suffer with pain!"

I can truly say Dr. Colameco changed my life. He's a wonderful doctor and person. He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to find out the real problem. You definitely don't find that in doctors these days. He's one of kind.

I was pleased with my overall office visit that I had with Dr. Colameco and his staff. I was greeted and taken care of in a timely, polite and efficient manner.

I have known and been treated off an on by Dr.C for years and he is by far the most caring and intelligent doctor I have ever met let alone been treated by. I also strongly disagree with the previous persons review, i don't know what happened or the reason he/she was let go as a patient but there were times i relapsed while seeing Dr. C and he did the complete opposite of what the other poster claims, he did not dismiss me as a patient but worked with me to see what treatment plan would work better then the one I was using. Overall i have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. C and always will, he is the only dr. i have ever fully trusted and would encourage anyone in need to go see him, especially those with trust issues towards most dr.'s

This physician treated me for several months without incident, but I experienced a bout of depression and relapsed one time and he summarily dismissed me from treatment without a referral to an alternative doctor. All this without having the courage to confront me with personal contact. He wrote me a letter indicating that my lapse was simply a cause for dismissal. He expects "perfect" outcomes from patients therefore has inadequate insight into the nature of addiction itself. He is inable or unwilling to work with patients towards a treatment regimen that reflects the imperfect nature of the disease itself.
