Awful doctor. Poor bedside manners and does not listen to his patients when they tell him that something is wrong! You couldn't pay me to have another child at Magee Hospital.

He is so gentle and caring

This doctor was awful! He was the on- call doctor that I got stuck with. My first taste of Dr. Corey was when I tried to call the nurse on call around 2am while in labor, and was forwarded to him, the doctor on call. I was unsure if I should come into the hospital my contractions were not regular and had not been in the 22 hours (at that point) in which I labored, but I noticed they were definitely getting stronger and stronger. Dr. Corey answered the phone very abruptly with a "what?!" I told him what was going on and he basically told me unless they were three minutes a part, lasting a minute , for more than an hour , to stay home. I explained they hadn't been regular, some were as close as 30 seconds a part, some were more than 30 minutes, but they were all lasting a minute, and we're definitely increasing in intensity. He then repeated himself and hung up. I was quite livid at his unprofessionalism but at that point too busy focusing on contractions to care much. My husband and I… decided about an hour later we had better leave for the hospital. Upon arrival I was 4cm dilated and my water broke on arrival to my room. Then I met Dr. Corey face to face, where he checked me and didn't even speak to me but only the nurses. A few hours later another check and I was now 8cm dilated and he insisted I needed pitocin. I questioned him on this because, I had been progressing well on my own, mine, and baby's vitals were great. He stated how my epidural would slow my contractions (which were still irregular) and I needed it. I stated several times I did NOT agree and I did NOT want to receive pitocin. I didn't not like the side effect possibilities, and saw no reason to get it. I refused over and over as the nursed proceeded to hook it into my IV. I was beyond angry. Within the hour my contractions were on top of each other, and I needed more epidural. A few more hours and finally I was ready to push. I pushed for three hours with contraction back, to back, to back having to not push through several because our oxygen levels were dropping due to the stress of literally no time between contractions. Eventually my epidural wore off again and I tried to push through without a refresh but with no break and only being able to push every third contraction I couldn't take it and begged for a refresh on my epidural. Within seconds of receiving it I fell asleep, out cold! My body was purely that exhausted , I could fall asleep in active, pushing labor. It was then Dr. Corey decided that I would need a C-section. I was so upset. I hadn't needed one because of any sort of crisis (thankfully) but, because the pitocin had sped things up so severely that my body couldn't cope. His bedside manner was awful, he was very rude and treated me as though I had no say in my delivery. He didn't care. It was as if he had somewhere better to be. If my labor would have not been progressing normally or well, that would be one thing, but that was not the case. He didn't listen to me and because of that I was forced into a major surgery I didn't want, nor need. I hope to never see this doctor again and hope he treats his other patients with more care and respect.

Dr. Corey was a decent doctor. The reason I quit going to him was that when it was time to schedule a new appointment, he sent me a registered letter that I had to sign for. I happened to be at work the day it was received and the mailman left me a form that said I had to pick up the letter at the post office, which was 20 minutes away from where I lived. Unfortunately, there was no name on the slip as to who sent the letter. Not only that, I received the slip when I got home from work on a Thursday after the post office had closed for the day and was going away for a long weekend which meant I had no idea who was sending me a registered letter and could even pick it up for another 4 days. Needless to say, I worried the entire weekend about this unknown registered letter. When I finally got to the post office to pick up the letter and saw that it was from his office reminding me about scheduling an appointment, I was FURIOUS to say the least. I never went back to him after… that!

Dr.Corey is a wonderful doctor and human being. When my baby died in utero at 4 1/2 months, he called me to make sure I was all right. He also delivered my third child. It was a great experience. I recommend him to anyone looking for an ob/gyn.

Dr. Cory and his people scheduled my wife to deliver via c section and never communicated with mcgee....we where to deliver and were never put on the schedule....really? Worst people ever. Nobody cares. Horrible practice. Upmc...goes to show you bigger is never better.

Docter S. Corey has always been so amazing. He is so kind caring and makes you feel very comfortable while always being extremely professional. I couldnt ask for a better docter. He delivered me and also delivered both of my sons. Anyone looking for a great docter with a caring but professional attitude should def see this docter. His staff has also been very kind even on a day where you may wait they are always keeping you posted.

Yes,I love his infectious smile, it sets the tone for the rest of my day.(people need to smile just like him, too many big frownies walking around!) I been going to Dr Corey for 30 years, He's always been great! Any proceedure that was done,he was very caring and made me feel at ease. I have to say, his staff "not so good", they seem lazy and bothered and rude.When I first started going to Dr Corey He staff was amazing, the girls were friendly and caring and patient. Since UPMC took over the office staff is terrible :(

Seen him during my first pregnancy, didn't tell me much of anything first time moms should be aware of. Office staff considered rude at best. I had cramping and bleeding for weeks, to which he did nothing about, told me I was fine and sent me home with no ultrasound or anything at all...miscarried 2 weeks later. Very cold, do NOT see this doctor.

This dr delivered my baby because he was the on call dr and he was awful. He basically forced me to a vaginal delivery after I pushed for 4 hours and the baby wasn't moving down. I pleaded for a c section and he refused. He ended tearing me apart and pulling the baby out with a vacuum. I couldn't believe we both survived! Just awful. Run, don't walk away from this dr.
