Stephen Crane, MD

One of the worst physicians I’ve ever encountered. Rude, cold, detached, condescending, I could go on. Refused to give me a cerclage and wanted to argue his point because his ‘special’ book from the American OB Academy or whatever says so. Well guess what? I went to another MFM who DID give me a cerclage before I went into labor at 23 weeks and saved my baby’s life. It’s fascinating to me how someone like Crane ended up in a field such as high risk. I think he is void of compassion and character. If you want to wait forever to be treated poorly and pay someone for it, he’s your guy.

Dr. Crane is very knowledgeable regarding MFM and all things high risk pregnancy. He was my physician and later I was privileged to work for him.

If you want a rude, condescending doctor, this is the guy for you! The 'nurse' was just as impolite, and the front desk staff ignores you and blames you when they forget to change your appointment as requested.

Good doc but I was admitted 2 weeks early due to high BP; asked him to repeat something to me after a bad night's sleep and he asked me, "Now, what did I just say?" like I was a child! Still no complaints about his know-how or skills, but really....Lavin was no better - much worse, actually, as far as bedside manner goes. Lavin was VERY rude. Glad to see he retired. Yay! Rude staff also.

Great sense of humor. Knows his stuff. Excellent clinician and teacher.
