There are plenty of skilled, pleasant doctors with positive ratings to match. With Dr. Kocaj, this rating isn’t based on one isolated 5 star experience. It is actually a long overdue review based on a recent visit compiled with a summation of our years of more than 5 + star ratings from our family. Dr. Kocaj’s professionalism, years of experience are seamlessly combined with his astute attentiveness to details; his genuine concern for his patients and their families along with his calming, easy-going personality. Dr. Kocaj has time & time again proven his unique ability to make the frightening and unknown nature of visits to the office of an orthopedic surgeon less daunting with his incredible personality, vast professional knowledge, and his well deserved and respected confidence. Having been a patient, along with treating each of my children and close family members, I cannot think of anyone else in the medical field as unassumingly selfless and as giving of his time than Dr.… Kocaj. It is with all of these experiences and with such deep appreciation that I wanted to make sure that I took the time to post this extremely long overdue review.

From high school sports to college sports I have trust Dr. Kocaj with all my sports related issues. I have had 3 knee surgeries on all separate causes and reasons and he has fixed them all with no pain or problems after. Amazing doctor and has built a relationship with not only myself but my parents. Responses to my calls within the same day goes above and beyond.

I highly recommend Dr. Kocaj. From the first visit, he made me feel at ease with a great bedside manner and positive personality. He spends a lot of time with you and gets to know you as a patient. He performed surgery on my knee and I felt confident in his skill and level of care. I’ve been equally impressed with the follow-up care I’ve received at my post-op appointments. He has truly put effort and genuine care into making the best plan for my recovery and success.

Dr Kocaj diagnosed my multiple issues regarding my rotator cuff he took time to explain my issues and showed each one on the MRI photos. He completed the surgery an few years back. I followed all of his instructions and I am very happy at the positive results!

Dr. Kocaj spends as much time as needed with you to make you feel that you are important and that he really cares about you. He has replaced both of my knees (at different times) and i wouldn't go to anyone else.

I have been a patient of this doctor for several years. I respect his intelligence, accurate diagnosis and love the fact that he listens, takes his time, answers any questions and thoroughly explains any information. However, the scheduling area of this practice needs a major overhaul. I fell down several steps at home, landed on my left side, was in a great deal of pain, and could not lift my left arm. I immediately called the doctors office (thinking I had fractured my arm or worse) for an appointment, explained the situation and was told I could not get an appointment for 7 weeks. I explained the situation two more times, even arguing with the person on the phone and the answer was the same each time - there is nothing available for 7 weeks. Does this office not leave room for emergencies? There is a great need here to hire people who can think and respond appropriately when scheduling patients - not people who just look at a online calendar and fill the blank… spots no matter what the problem is. If I could give their scheduling are minus 1000 stars I would.

I have been to dr. Kocaj for 2 different problems, and both times I received excellent care from him. His diagnosis and treatments were spot on. He took the time to answer all of my questions, never did I feel rushed! His great personality puts you at ease as soon as you meet him.

I am a Cigna policyholder who is looking for possible knee replacement surgery on both knees. Was told by the Office I needed to get a referral from another Dr., which they set up for me. I was concerned as I am a retiree on my wife's coverage and I was not aware I needed a referral based on the plan she had. Confirmed with CIGNA that I do NOT need any referrals. Contacted Dr. Kocaj's office again and mentioned this. Since I do not need a referral, I wanted an immediate visit. Was told that he only considers one "event" (knee) at a time and his policy is to ask for a referral. This infuriated me as I consider this a blatant play to get more exam fees for his and the other Doctor that I had to see for a referral. Made an appointment with office for one knee. Was told that even though they made the referral appointment for me they would cancel it and I had to call them. Upon reflection, if this sort of hassle is what I had to go with I do not have a good feeling… about this practice in general. I had my knees worked on years ago by an excellent practice (Tri County Orthopedic) that no longer takes CIGNA so I'd have go off network. I am giving that option serious consideration as I trust them totally! I plan to contact CIGNA about the difficulties I encountered with this office.
