Dr. Stephen Littlejohn, MEDICAL, DOCTOR, MD

I have had two hip replacements in 5 years and you just cannot find a better dr out there. He is good with instructions, answers all questions and is also pleasant personally.

I accompanied my wife to her appointment to see Dr Littlejohn. After reading his ratings online I was quite optimistic that she would get some help with her problem's. The appointment was probably his last appointment of the day but he came into the office (with his PA assistant) as though he was meant to be somewhere else 15 minutes ago. He blew threw my wife's problem (injury's) like there was no reason for her concerns and that there was nothing he could do for her condition. He had looked at her MRI results but stated that the report was wrong and that there was nothing to her injuries other than her just rehabilitating herself. Based on his attitude toward my wife's injury and his rejection of a Board Certified Radiologist (signed) reading of an MRI done recently. I would never recommend anyone to see this doctor based on his attitude towards my wife's injury and concerns for her health recovery. He was just too short in listening to her problems and conditions cutting her off in… a sort of arrogant rebuttal sort of way. Like he was wasting his time and wanted to be somewhere else other than listening to my wife. He did recommend a course to recovery (to his credit) but his attitude toward seeing my wife and listening to her concerns is what disgusted me the most. Who am I? 20 year military man with 22 years in the medical field working with doctors. I'm a forgiving individual who can overlook many a fault, except when it comes to proper patient care and a bad caregiver attitude (towards the patient). My opinion is this. If you don't want to see patient's at a given time in the afternoon or it's too much of an inconvenience to see patient's outside your hometown then don't do it. Don't waste your time and don't waste ours. Stay away from this one.

Dr Littlejohn did an excellent job. Would highly recommend.

Self-absorbed. Awoke from surgery on knee with a numb foot. His comment "I did not do that and have never heard of anyone having that problem after total knee surgery." Told me I could not win if I tried to use him! I just wanted answers. After 11 years, still numb but painful constantly: neuropathy. Bothers me daily and have fallen many times.

Is highly active, spends little time explaining reason for pain. Was not prepared when I had questions about my pain. Did not have my records, while talking to him, does not listen. Lack of empathy, no explaination why I am experiencing pain when most patients at this point in recovery do not have pain. A wasted trip.

Seems a little on the busy side. Makes use of his PA, which is good because it could free him to do other more technical things but sometimes you feel like you are being rushed when you see the Dr. and that the PA is making decisions. I do understand this and usually have no objections unless trying to make decisions (concerning surgery, etc. However, I think Dr. Littlejohn is a excellent surgeon and a fine person.
