Dr. Stephen John Maddox JR., MD

Dr. Maddox is the worst doctor I have ever seen. Not only was he rude, condescending, and uninviting to me and my mom, but I made an appointment just to get my school forms signed and he insisted on getting earwax out of my ear. This was completely unnecessary as I had no issues with my ears/hearing, yet Dr. Maddox continued to pick at my ear as I cried out in pain until I could no longer hear out of my right ear. He told me the pain and hearing loss would go away, but it did not. When I called the office, they didn’t get back to me until the next morning, on a call which Dr. Maddox told me to just get eardrops. I had to make an appointment with an ENT doctor, who looked at my ear and informed me that Dr. Maddox had pushed my wax into my eardrum and that I was lucky that my ear canal and drum weren’t damaged. I had to spend nearly an extra $200 due to Dr. Maddox’s carelessness. As a student interested in medicine, I have a lot of respect for what Dr. Maddox does, but I do not trust him… and I don’t recommend him to others.

He was great. Loved his bedside manner. I wish we could have had him as a pediatrician from the very beginning.

Dr. Maddox is always personable and easy to communicate with. He is down to earth and makes any visit (sick or well) as comfortable for the child (and parents!) as possible. He answers any and all questions, no matter how silly you may think they are.

My son seen him since he was a newborn. I'm 23 years old. I always felt like I was being stereo typed by him. My son at 3 weeks old develop acid reflux so he gave us Zantac which was awful my son didn't like it all. I kept expressing my feelings about how he doesn't like can we do something else. He told me to blow in his face like a dog and and that will make him take it. I felt that was very rude. And then my son just kept spitting up ounces at a time. And choking him self cause the acid reflux was awful. Finally we switched doctors and he gave us need acid reflux medication and then he was fine. Now my son is 6 months old and didn't need all the tests and the formula. Just needed a switch in mediation. Very unhappy that he just didn't listen to me about the mediation.

My son was spitting up through his nose DR.Maddox said that's normal. Spitting up days later had to call the office manger for him to call me back! Worst doctor my son ever seen!!

Best Pedi ever! you can get him or his nurse on the phone quickly and easily and will go all out to do what is needed Highly reccommended
