I had aneurysm in left leg femoral bypass. Dr. Self inserted long stent to support the artery wall. The procedure went wery well also, no problems later on. He follow up it later with two USG test to make sure that everything is as should be. I would recommend dr. Self.

My husband recently had carotid artery surgery. The doctor was very concise, provided information in terms we could understand, was very considerate and courteous. The surgery went extremely well, and in the time frame we were given, his after surgery follow up with family was informative and took the time to answer questions, with a smile. The incision healed so well, it is hardly noticeable, followed up in two weeks. No residual problems, back at work and doing great.

Accurate evaluation and diagnosis of problem. Straight to the point but clear, concise and offered opportunity for questions. Had Nurse Practitioner to explains details. Spent long time, not rushed consultation when preparing for surgery. Very thorough and open. Will not see how surgery goes....

The outcome from my surgery was not good creating significant additional health problems, yet the only follow up received was billing.

We found Dr. Self difficult to talk with, he seemed to have little time to talk to the patient or family. The patient's surgery went well, however the healing of the incision has not been successful. The patient, eight weeks later, is now under the care of a wound doctor. We have been told by several professionals and people who have been through this type of by-pass surgery that the care of the incision was not handled properly or as promptly as it should have been. The patient should have been referred to a wound care situation early on. However, it took another physician to order the proper care.
