I am sorry to read these negative reviews about Dr. Sentovich. He treated me over 4 years ago when he was at Quincy Medical and he was warm and sweet and extremely professional. I had been suffering with fistulas for over 13 years and many treatments and many doctors later I found Dr. Sentovich and I am happy to report he treated me and I have not had on recurrance. Please don't let these negative comments throw you, he is a great doctor and knows his stuff!

This doctor doesn't care what kind of pain he leaves you in. He doesn't feel a thing.I'm telling you, you had better think twice and see another doctor. mYou will be better off............

Dr. Sentovich was my surgeon while he was still at Beth Israel. He was excellent in diagnostics, answering all my questions, and actually had a great sense of humor! I didn't have any family nearby so I was essentially alone for quite a complicated surgery; he was lighthearted and got me laughing and relaxed. He was diligent about responding to post-op phone calls and offered great follow-up. 15 years later, all the surgical work he did is still holding up. ;-) As far as admin issues at Boston Med, I recently switched all my care to another hospital b/c my experience there with another procedure (different unit) was absolutely horrendous.

His nurse staff is nice and professional. His administrative staff is atrocious. I was supposed to be scheduled for both a colonoscopy and ultra sound. I had to call back numerous times to make sure that they scheduled the appointment after being told that I would be called back. In both cases I was never sent instructions about the preparation for the procedures. I was told that they would be sent to me. (More calls (by me) to receive the instructions over the phone.) I did finally receive written instructions by mail after the procedure. On the day of my colonoscopy I arrived at the pre op area only to find out that the date they were given was different from the date that I was give. Both parties (me and the pre-op people) produced documentation proving they were correct. We finally discovered that we were each given different dates. It got to the point where I could rely on their unreliability. If they said they would call, I knew they wouldnt, if they said they would… send something, I knew I would not receive it. This allowed me to work around these obstacles.

Dr. Sentovich performed my resection last year. He did a wonderful job and was there for me every step of the way. He beleives in treating the pain. And would have me email him with any questions I may have had, and he always answered them. When I told him I only wanted him to perform the surgery (because the hospital is a teaching hospital) he said absolutely no problem. He was there everyday that I was in the hospital which was 9 days. He appears stand off ish, but he really is not. I had no problem communicating with him. I always felt he was listening to me and never made me feel that any of my questions and concerns we no valid. If I knew of anyone who needs any kind of surgery I would recommend him. He is very smart and a true professional.
