Dr. Stephen Scott Wilmarth, MD

I am writing this for my mother who had cataract surgery by this physician. I am writing because she cannot currently see, read, or write. The affected eye is her right eye. During surgery there were complications and the cataract could not be completely removed. Due to the results of this surgery a lens could not be placed into the eye and part of the cataract was left in the eye. This may make the lens implant untenable and a second surgery will have to be done to try to clean the area and put in a lens implant. There may be a third surgery to clean out the affected eye. While I understand complications may occur, there was no explanation of my situation and I had difficulty getting a referral for another doctor. I would not recommend Dr. Wilmarth as he does not appear to disclose full and pertinent information to his patients and if there is a problem, getting a referral (and it needs to be quick) is difficult and stressful. Full payment is required prior to the surgery. … Will I get a refund? What about the future expenses of a second and even third surgery?

first time visit, DR Wilmarth was very down to earth I felt he really cared about his patients and my concerns, his staff was awesome looking forward to having him fix my eyes thank you

Excellent physician. Would recommend him to any and everyone. A truly remarkable individual.
