Dr. Steve Fanto, MD

The entire staff is caring, extremely compassionate, friendly, and very informative. Everyone is personable and this is a welcoming Doctors office! Any and all my questions were promptly answered. Both Dr. Steve Fanto, M.D., and Ray Ketcham, APN are professional, incredibly sympathetic, understanding, and knowledgeable. Phone calls are answered immediately. The office is spotless, including the restroom! Appointments always timed perfectly and I have rarely waited for more than 5 minutes.

I was a pain management patient of Dr. Fanto for 12 years. I sadly read about him losing his license to practice (although it may not be permanent) but if he was over-prescribing to get kickbacks, then he did deserve punishment. When I learned about some of his patients due to passing away, I wanted to share my point of view concerning that. As a pain (or any other) patient, you should take the responsibility to read about what you are prescribed and question anything that is of concern. Some people don't understand how pain meds work and need to know that they are NOT supposed to eliminate your pain completely, but to make life tolerable. If you take too much medicine to try to erase your pain, YOU are acting irresponsibly, NOT the doctor. NEVER take more than you are prescribed. I do think that Dr. Fanto can be too lenient with the pain meds because he is compassionate. Be your own advocate, protect your health by learning about what you are putting into your body. Also your… pharmacist should be alerting you if you are suddenly prescribed a drug which is too strong for you. Sometimes they aren't paying attention either (or don't care). It's terrible how all of this has affected his existing patients. They have been abandoned and it's just not fair. I hope that all works out for everyone, Dr. Fanto included. I always liked him.

I have read several reviews here for Steve Fanto, MD, of Arizona. This is not the same Doctor and it is a crying shame that a few people have not done their homework before they wrote a review that could damage the reputation and possibly even the practice of an unaccused man. If you had bothered to investigate your information, you would find that the Dr. Fanto in Arizona has only practiced medicine in Arizona. I am a patient of the Arizona Dr. Fanto, and this is not a review. I am beseeching that before you write a review, you perform a reverse cranial colonoscopy and get your information straight. I wish there was a way to contact each person who fired a long range missile into this Doctor’s life and give them the info they need to do an accurate search.

Please look up Dr. Fanto on the AZ State Medical Board actions. He over prescribes pain medications and uses inappropriate doses that put patients lives in danger. He has recently had patients pass away from inappropriate use of combinations of opioid based pain medications. One medication, only approved for break through cancer pain, was prescribed by Dr. Fanto to a non cancer patient at a starting doe of 800mcg. The approved starting dose is 100mcg. This is one of the most powerful opioid based meds on the market and he used it inappropriately. Furthermore, Dr. Fanto was named in a lawsuit for accepting "kick-back" payments from a drug manufacturer for his prescriptions of their drug. He recently lost his license to practice medicine a is no longer in practice. Unethical, money driven and not concerned about staying true to his Hippocratic oath.

I travel a long way to see Dr. Fanto every month. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of pain management and how to safely prescribe your pain meds. He is very personable and quickly puts you at ease when you are dealing with pain 24/7. I could not recommend Dr. Fanto and his staff more highly.

Absolutely like Dr. Fanto, but his office staff (Robin) needs to GO!!! She is the most rudest person I've ever met. I understand that she may have been doing double-duty, but that's no reason to be rude to people. People already go there not feeling well. They shouldn't have to put up with her verbal abuse and attitude. I can't believe that Dr. Fanto allows this.

I have been seeing Dr. Fanto's for almost 8 years now. I actually left once for a Dr closer to me,( I live in Casa Grande) but soon asked to be taken back as a patient as he is well worth the drive. He and his staff have taken VERY good care of me and anybody would be lucky to have him as their pain management Physician.

I really like Dr. Fanto; however, the receptionist is extremely rude. She not only was incredibly rude to me over the phone, but when I went for my visit, she was very rude to others over the phone. When people are in a lot of pain, they don't need her attitude and the rolling of her eyes. I've never been treated so unprofessionally in all of my life. Dr. Fanto should really rethink who is running the office. She is not doing his business any favors.

Dr Fanto is an excellent Dr. I appreciate his professional and positive attitude. He has been a trusted physician the last few years and for that I am thankful.

I actually went to Dr Fanto back in 1998. He helped me so much with my issues and is one of the best doctors I've ever been to.
