Dr. Steven Jacob Adams, DO

I started seeing Dr. Adams during my first pregnancy. I was pregnant with twin boys and experienced some major complications with a shortened cervix around 21 weeks and ended up delivering at 23 weeks. Whenever I called with concern, I was made to feel as though I was overreacting and that there was nothing that could be done for me. I was told on more than one occasion by Dr. Adams that unless I was bleeding or contracting regularly, I didn't need to come to the hospital. I had been given different information by the specialists so I went to the hospital anyway when I had pressure on my cervix. I didn't see Dr. Adams until I had already been at the hospital for 14 hours - the nurse called him the night before but I was again led to believe my situation was not an emergency. After he finally did come into my room, he said little and went back to the practice without telling me and without checking my cervix (our plan going forward was contingent on what was happening with my cervix and… he had been directed by MFM to check it). I was told he would be back after office hours. I had another Doctor take over at that point and discovered dilation and feet in my cervix. I was finally given medication for my pain and steroids for my babies' development and delivered via emergency C-section within hours. I believe Dr. Adams is a fine doctor for a "normal" pregnancy, but I cannot honestly recommend him to someone in a high risk situation.

Dr. Adams is great at his job and takes great care of his patients.
