Dr. Steven Lawrence Barnett

One year ago, Dr Barnett performed my bilateral knee surgery and from our first meeting, he was simply FABULOUS. I have returned to aerobic dancing 3x a week and I’m so pleased that I chose to do both knees at the same time. Great surgeon, wonderful staff and gorgeous facility. If you’re thinking about making an appointment, DON’T hesitate for a minute!

I have multiple injuries from a 15 to 20 foot fall. Thoracic vertebrae T-7 50% gone and T-8 20% gone. Lumbar injuries L-3 through S-1 (future fusion). Bilateral SI joints destroyed. Fracture bilateral neck of femurs, torn cartilage and labrum. Bilateral knees torn cartilage and dislocated right knee cap. Bilateral feet torn ligaments and cartilage with dislocated tarsal bone. Doctor Barnett replaced my left knee 3 years ago with no hassle because the ex-ray showed bone on bone. For my right knee and bilateral hips he has blown me off because the ex-rays do not show bone on bone. MRI's do show a lot of missing cartilage, missing portions of hip labrum and other portions that are ossified. Steven Barnett commented that he is sure that I could easily find another doctor to replace my hips but he would not. I just wanted help to try and save my hips if at all possible from needing future replacement. Barnett's last report claimed my stated pain is over exaggerated and that maybe I should… see an arthroscopic doctor for some minor labrum debridement. Steven Barnett only cares about easy bone on bone patients that he can get into surgery then forget about them after words; ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

Dr Barnett is superb. He gave me a new left hip and knee. I threw away the cane and now am in competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Not bad for a 71 year old. Thanks to DR Barnett and his fabulous team of Drs, nurses, and therapists they gave me the new leg. I put in the sweat in therapy and his artistry of surgery gave me an active life. Dr Barnett replaced my right hip two years ago and it was an amazing experience. I went home the night of surgery and went upstairs within 12 hours of surgery. The recovery was very quick and in two years I have had no further issues with that hip!

We flew my 91 year old mother in from Oregon to have Dr. Barnett do her anterior hip replacement surgery. He has an excellent reputation and we wanted the best for her. Dr. Barnett and Hoag Hospital exceeded our high expectations. Highly recommended!!

I am a physician who has had his hip replaced by Dr. Barnett and he’s about to have his other hip operated by Dr. Barnett. He is excellent his medical support team is excellent. The reason he does not get five stars is very poor office communications, inability to reach the doctor, Some of his non-medical support staff is less than acceptable

Excellent program from beginning to end. I couldn't be more impressed with the care and professionalism provided by Dr. Barnett and his team. As a healthcare provider I did my homework looking for an orthopedic surgeon to do my hip replacement. Dr. Barnett used all the evidenced based science published in the current literature for best outcomes. His excellent outcomes prove it.

I would highly recommend Dr. Stephen Barnett to anyone who required joint replacement. He and staff are highly professional and efficient. I had my right knee replaced in 2013 and my left knee in 2016 by Dr. Barnett and his team and am very satisfied with the care And followup I received both times.

Dr. Barnett far exceeded my expectations. The Hoag facility was fantastic in taking care of me. I would highly recommend to anyone needing a hip replacement.
