Dr. Steven Harold Berlin, MD

Sadly i have had a terrible experience post op with this guy who claimed to be in my network of Blue Shield. I also did not hire him the doctor Nicholas Karyotakis hired him for a standard colonscopy that is required after age 50, He has continued to send me bills months later

My experience echos that of the others who have posted here about the ridiculous charges levied by Dr. Berlin's offices. In my case the very first bill I received arrived more than 2 YEARS after the service was performed. YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY, THE FIRST BILL ARRIVED AFTER MORE THAN TWO YEARS!! If you are due for a procedure that involves this Dr. request a different one. Either he or his office is utterly incompetent.

Dr. Berlin was the anesthesiologist during a colonoscopy/endoscopy I had. I was told by him that he would waive the remainder of costs if insurance paid him. My GI told me that at most he charged $250 (if insurance didn't pay) and if insurance paid, he would charge up to $100. My insurance company paid $560 of the $950 charged for the procedure, and he eventually had a collections agency come after me for the remaining $400 balance which should have been waived.I'm unemployed, and would not have had the procedure had I known the potential costs. By not keeping his word about billing, Dr. Berlin acted in an entirely unprofessional manner.
