After a thorough review of all my experience and conditions he determined that I had a partially torn meniscus in my knee. PT was recommended and set up right away. The PT produced excellent results and recovery of function. He was very courteous and took the time to answer all questions. I would recommend him to others.

I don't even think Steven Collina deserves the honor of being called a doctor. I was pretty much forced to see Collina from a workers comp injury and it has been the worst and most painful experience that I've ever been through. He spends about five minutes with you after about 45 minutes of his staff. He ordered me a bunch of tests in which he did not even understand the results. Collina does not even know how to read an MRI or X-Ray disc!!! I believe he just wants to sound as if he knows what he is doing by ordering the tests and then cant even give you proper feedback on the results. He basically has his untrained staff do unnecessary and painful manipulations in which one event actually put me in tears. After this particular visit I felt as if my recovery progress was set back significantly. My PT was actually appalled by what his resident did to me to the point that I was cut short from PT for a few days due to the pain he put me in and the sympathy of my therapist. After… 2 MRI's, 2 X-Rays, and an EMG he hadn't the slightest idea of what was wrong and HE even told me that I may need a second opinion. With the second opinion I was told a list of problems that I had going on with no additional testing at the time of the first visit of the new doctor. The only good thing I can say about the office is the reception staff who were very courteous. I would not even recommend Collina to my worst enemy. He is not a specialist and is deceiving to his patients by claiming the title of an ortho-specialist. In my opinion he is just and academic and has no real hands on experience, he does not listen to you nor have the slightest idea to plan a course of recovery. He did not even have a diagnosis but still felt the need to throw me into PT. Pills and PT is not a recovery plan without a diagnosis of any kind. If you are hurt and need a doctor this office is not the place to go.

He treated my son for a shoulder injury from football in 2008 and the shoulder was re-injured this year and we will go back to him to see if surgery can be avoided.

i injured my shoulder last fall, and my plantar fascia this fall. In both situations, I was able to avoid surgery because Dr. Collina properly diagnosed my conditions and provided appropriate treatment. Through diagnosis, follow-up, physical therapies, and medical supports, I was able to rehab with 10 weeks after each injury and return to regular sporting activities. I will return to him if (when) I am injured again.
