Dr. Steven John Dewey, MD

I have seen Dr Dewey for years he is wonderful and he will take the time to answer my questions. I love how his staff is always so friendly

Dr. Dewey performed the C section for my second child and did a great job. I had very minimal bleeding and recovered very well. I made an appointment to see him 8 months postpartum because I was dealing with severe depression, anxiety and rage. I expressed that I felt like something wasn’t right or balanced in my body. He immediately told me that I needed to listen to him and promise to do exactly what he said. He told me that I had to stop nursing my baby, prescribed me Citalopram, and told me I needed to go to therapy. He did no blood test to see if I was lacking in anything. I left the appointment feeling way more unsettled and not comfortable with what he suggested. I went and had more testing done with a different doctor and find out that I have hypothyroid and just have to take vitamins and I feel back to normal. I went back to Dr. Dewey a while later to get my IUD removed he asked if I was still taking Citalopram and doing the other things he wanted me to do and I told him no… and that I had more testing done. His demeanor changed to be very cold and he wouldn’t look me in the eye the rest of the appointment. My husband and I have decided to have three children and then we are done. When I asked him about permanent birth control options he told me he refuses to do anything permanent on me because I’m “too young and will want another kid in five or so years” when I repeated that we only want three kids he asked why and then said “you can handle way more that three kids!” After that appointment I was done. Wouldn’t recommend him to anyone. His staff is very kind but he has terrible bedside manners and doesn’t listen or respect me as a patient.

I wish he never touched me!! After I had a aptopic pregnancy ten years ago. Two years ago. I had to get a lapronmey. Due to still having a ciest on my tube. When he took my tube. I got a really bad infection. Till this day. I still have problems!

He takes the time to listen ... Excellent bedside manner... Excellent clinician... He has delivered all 5 of my children and continues to help me through tough times in my life.

I went to Dr. Dewey for an ablation. He did a fine job. But then about a year later I had problems with it. After the fix stopped working, he told me I needed a hysterectomy. I was expecting that, so it wasn't a surprise. What was a surprise however, was Dr. Dewey asking me if I've always been this "loose"! Are you freaking kidding me? I've had several children! And he said he'd perform a tightening procedure that my husband would like! I've had no complaints from my husband in the past, and why is he suggesting a surgical procedure for the benefit of my spouse? He just said it in such a rude and disrespectful manner! I then made an appointment with a better doctor for my hysterectomy and am so glad I did.

The reason I love Dr. Dewey is because he is good at what he does and he makes me comfortable because he is laid back. He talks with me and answers my questions. He delivered my second child c-section and was very efficient. I am seeing him now for my 3rd pregnancy. I was referred to him by another of his patients and I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I have been with Dr. Dewey for the past 21 years. Ever since my first visit I knew he was the best. He is so caring and open and knowlegable. We have a genetic problem in our family and he was so good to make sure I was referred to a specialist to check for it. I have had two children vaginally following a C-Section with absolutely no complications due to Dr. Dewey. I have referred several of my relitives and friends, and even my children to him and they all feel the same way I do. He is the greatest!!!
