Dr. Steven R Fischer, MD

Dr. Fischer was my father's surgeon for partial hip replacement. He did an outstanding job.

This doctor has done surgery on my wife once and twice on myself. He has always been very thorough in his exams and always takes time to explain all options and their pros and cons. He has also helped make sure the billing is done correctly as he had experienced an issue with an insurance company trying not to pay. Whenever I have gone in for exams or treatment, he asks about my family. On one occasion, I saw him just after the death of my 52 year old sister. He put down my chart and asked how I was doing, not my knees, but how I was doing emotionally. You cannot beat that for a caring doctor.

Surgeon did a great job with surgical repair on one family member. Unfortunately, he totally missed a musculoskeletal injury for many months on another family member which resulted in permanent deficit. The missed injury was possibly due to not listening to the patient, not performing a proper physical exam, and not reviewing other health care professionals input. Difficult to give a good doctor such a poor rating.
