Dr. Steven James Fountain, MD

Patient beware - Dr. Fountain has doctor's and PA's working at Upper Chesapeake Hospital Emergency room in Bel Air, Maryland that are not in -network with the Upper Chesapeake Hospital. If you go there and expect to be in-network with your insurance provider you better ask first. I received a $995.00 Out-of-Network bill from Dr. Fontain's office for a doctor to look at an xray of my knee, give me a brace and tell me to see a surgeon. <15 minutes of his time at ~$66 dollars a minute! God help someone who winds up there with a serious injury that requires extension care and then receives an out-network- bill for several thousand dollars or more. Everything your insurance covers in-network with Chesapeake hospital is out the window. You are on you own for the balance of the bill. The hospital should not allow this and the Maryland Insurance Administration is going to hear about it. This is Bait and Switch and amounts to insurance fraud and price gouging.

I had an emergency room visit to UpperChesapeake Hospital in Bel Air, MD.Doctor Fountain was thorough with his examination. Treatment was given as soon as lab results came back... ...results were back from the lab in a short time...I felt better with-in 30 minute or so after anti-biotics were given.I had a severe sore throat (could not swallow/viral pharyngitis? not sure if that is the correct spelling)with fever...Doctor Fountain was caring, kind and had a genteel disposition with me as a patient.I rate doctor Fountain and the staff on duty with him as EXCELLENT!!!
